Brendan Sorsby Will Have to Wait for the 2027 NFL Draft

The NFL has informed teams that it will not hold a Supplemental Draft this season, closing QB Brendan Sorsby's path to playing in the NFL in 2026. He'll now be eligible for the 2027 NFL Draft. Sorsby applied after the NCAA ruled him ineligible for the college season because of gambling violations, including his admission that he bet on Indiana while redshirting there as a freshman, along with more evidence linking him to proxy betting and bets on other sports. A big year at Texas Tech could have made him a potential first-round pick in 2027, but now he will likely spend the year preparing for the draft instead of playing football.

        Off-Field Trouble For Geno Smith?

Jets QB Geno Smith is under police investigation following assault allegations made by a woman on social media over the weekend. Davie (Fla.) police initially said the case was closed with no arrests but later clarified that the incident is still being reviewed before a report can be released. Neither Smith nor the Jets have addressed the situation. No charges have been filed as of now, but that doesn't preclude the league from investigating the incident under the personal conduct policy. We'll keep you updated on any further developments. For now, we're not adjusting Smith's spot in the QB rankings.

Is David Montgomery The Cheapest Three-Down Back In Fantasy Football?

Texans insider Aaron Wilson believes the team is building a "smash mouth" offense "built around bell cow RB David Montgomery." Wilson notes that Houston's running game last year, led by RB Woody Marks, wasn't good enough. The team responded by trading for Montgomery and then giving him a two-year, $16.5 million deal. But just how big a role will Montgomery play this season?

Don’t Dismiss the Isaiah Bond Buzz in Cleveland

Let’s just let ESPN Browns reporter Daniel Oyefusi deliver the primary info: “The Browns drafted wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in April, but no Cleveland wideout was targeted more than [Isaiah Bond] this spring.” That’s especially worth noting for two reasons:

        1. Cleveland drafted Concepcion in the first round and Boston in the second. So the team clearly not only likes them but should be incentivized to develop them quickly into key contributors.
        2. Although Bond arrived as an undrafted free agent, he’s not your typical UDFA.

Our prospect guru Shane Hallam deemed Bond a Round 4-5 prospect who “certainly could have been a Day 2 pick” with more college production. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler rated him a third-round talent and the No. 10 WR prospect in the class.

Bond went undrafted because he got arrested on sexual-assault allegations just two weeks before the draft. A Texas grand jury determined in August, though, that the case didn’t merit an indictment. Bond subsequently signed with Cleveland

Colts Brass Praise Tyler Warren’s Second-Year Development

The Colts expect Tyler Warren to take a step forward in Year 2, according to Mike Chappell of Fox 59. HC Shane Steichen said Warren is still growing and specifically pointed to improvement “coming in and out of breaks”. QB Daniel Jones said Warren is already “making a jump” this offseason. Warren finished TE11 with 11.1 PPR points per game, the 10th-most ever by a rookie TE, so another step could push him into the top three at the position, especially in PPR.

Is Rachaad White the Commanders RB to Draft?

Washington presents one of the most interesting backfields to watch for potential 2026 fantasy value. Why? The Commanders ranked fifth in the league in scoring and seventh in total yards with a healthy QB Jayden Daniels in 2024. That team also ranked top 5 in rushing attempts, rushing yards, yards per attempt, and rushing TDs. And although the QB helped those numbers, Washington RBs also tallied the league’s 11th-most PPR points that season. That group found Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler finishing 30th and 32nd, respectively, in PPR points per game. Even last year’s struggling Commanders offense -- with just seven games from Daniels -- still finished ninth in rushing attempts, fourth in yards, fifth in yards per carry and eighth in TDs. This year’s backfield swapped out Ekeler and Chris Rodriguez for multiple new candidates but lacks role clarity as we head toward summer. That’s why it’s important to track the buzz from practices.

Bo Nix Not Worried About Ankle

Broncos QB Bo Nix needed two surgeries on the right ankle he fractured in January's playoff win over the Bills. The first repaired the ankle and the second, which came in April, was to remove bone spurs, Nix said this week. He's been a limited participant in minicamp and is on track to be a full-go for training camp. Nix isn't worried about the ankle heading into the 2026 season.

Ladd McConkey Has Missed Time With Hamstring Injury

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey revealed Tuesday that he's missed time this offseason with a left hamstring injury. He expects to be ready for the start of training camp in late July. "There's no reason to rush it and really push it and then have another setback and then you bleed into training camp," McConkey said.

Chris Olave Appears on Track for Week 1 After January Blood Clot

We reported last week that Saints WR Chris Olave remained sidelined after a blood clot was found in his lung in January. According to New Orleans Football's Nick Underhill, Olave is slated to get off his blood thinners on June 29. It sounds like he'll be fully cleared at that point. "Everything to this point is going exactly as planned," Underhill adds.

Rashee Rice Released From Jail, Escaping Suspension?

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice is scheduled to be released from jail today. He served a 30-day sentence for testing positive for THC, violating the terms of his probation. It sounds like that'll be the end of the discipline for that incident. Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio writes that, "The league has shown no inclination to impose further punishment on Rice for his probation violation."

Cowboys HC Brian Schottenheimer said he sees a "night and day" difference from RB Jaydon Blue between now and his rookie year. Harold Fannin Jr. Absence from Browns Offseason Activities Raises Questions

Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr. sat out team activities in May and June, including OTA practices and mandatory minicamp, after participating in voluntary minicamp in April. That absence stands out because Fannin injured his groin ahead of Week 17 against the Steelers, reinjured it during the game, and then missed Week 18. The Browns don’t need to explain the absence, but it would be worth watching if that groin injury is still limiting him.

Should You Be Scared About How Much the Jaguars Like Nate Boerkircher?

It was a little surprising when the Jaguars drafted Texas A&M TE Nate Boerkircher. It was the team’s first pick, after Jacksonville traded its first-rounder to move up for Travis Hunter in 2025, and Boerkircher totaled just 38 receptions across five college seasons (four at Nebraska, one at A&M). But the degree to which Jags leadership got excited about the selection might give us some hints at the team’s offensive plans for 2026 and beyond … and they could impact the fantasy outlook for your favorite Jacksonville receiver.

Bucky Irving Back On The Field

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving practiced on Thursday for the first time this offseason, according to Pewter Report. He's been working back from February shoulder surgery, and HC Todd Bowles sounded alarms in late May when he suggested that Irving could be in danger of missing the start of the season. But Irving practicing in June -- without a non-contact jersey -- is a good sign.
