As expected, the Seahawks have activated RB Rashaad Penny from IR. That makes him available to play against the Saints tonight. We certainly expect him to factor into the backfield work. Penny would get an upside boost if Alex Collins turns up inactive. He's questionable with a groin injury, but HC Pete Carroll said after Saturday's practice that Collins "looked good today, so he's ready to go," according to the team website. We'd bet on Collins leading the backfield tonight after he performed surprisingly well at Pittsburgh.

Eagles RB Miles Sanders suffered a low-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Raiders, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Sanders is still undergoing tests to determine the severity, but Rapoport suggests that it's not a serious injury. We'll update you when we know more.

Eagles RB Miles Sanders hurt his right ankle in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. He was carted back to the locker room, so we're not expecting to see him again today. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: Sanders has been ruled out.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (calf) was designated to return from IR on Friday. He's now eligible to play vs. the Saints on Monday night -- and it sounds like he will. “I’m ready to go. I’m revved up. I’m excited,” Penny said. “I’m still young. I’m fresh. And I’m ready to go, and now’s the chance for me to show it.” OC Shane Waldron, meanwhile, said Penny returned from his calf injury in "great shape." He might step right into a significant role on Monday night with RB Alex Collins dealing with a groin injury.

The Panthers have ruled LB Shaq Thompson (foot) out for Sunday's game against the Giants. That leaves Jermaine Carter to lead Carolina LBs in playing time.

Panthers WR Terrace Marshall (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Giants. The rookie hasn’t been a fantasy factor this season, averaging just 3.7 targets per game. But his absence could mean an extra target or 2 for WRs D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson.

Browns DE Jadeveon Clowney is active for tonight's game against the Broncos. He entered questionable with multiple injuries but should be good to go or an upside sack matchup.

Browns DE Jadeveon Clowney is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Broncos. He's listed with ankle, chest and knee issues but put in limited practice participation throughout this condensed week. Clowney played through a questionable tag or his normal snap share Sunday against the Cardinals. So we'd bet on him playing. But we'll update his status when Thursday night inactives are announced.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Monday that RB Rashaad Penny (calf) will be "back to full speed" this week, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. That sure makes it sound like Penny will at least be in the mix to play against the Saints on Monday night. We'll see about his official activation from IR and his practice participation throughout the week. Injuries to Chris Carson and Alex Collins present opportunity and further muddy the backfield outlook for Seattle.

Panthers WR Terrace Marshall sustained a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. We'll track his progress through the protocol, but the rookie isn't on the redraft radar.

Panthers LB Shaq Thompson suffered a foot injury in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys and is "expected to miss some time," according to The Athletic. Thompson played 93% of the snaps, so the injury must have occurred late. Jermaine Carter checked in next among non-edge LBs at 66% playing time and figures to lead that group while Thompson is out. Carter becomes a decent Week 5 waiver pickup for IDP leagues.

Bears QB Andy Dalton (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Lions. QB Justin Fields will make his 2nd career start. The 1st was a disaster, but he’s in a much better spot at home for Detroit today. Still, Fields is only an option in 2-QB leagues and DFS tournaments.

The Seahawks placed RB Rashaad Penny (calf) on IR. He's out until at least Week 7. RB Chris Carson will continue to dominate carries in the meantime, but he's been losing passing-down snaps to RBs Travis Homer and Alex Collins.

The Bears on Saturday downgraded QB Andy Dalton to doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Lions. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero — among others — reports that Chicago is expected to start Justin Fields for the 2nd straight game. Things can’t go much worse than they did in the rookie’s 1st start at Cleveland, but we’re still wary of using Fields in season-long fantasy football lineups

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) practiced all week and isn't listed on the final injury report. He'll be back for Sunday's game vs. the Packers. Johnson racked up 22 targets over the first 2 games of the season and should be in for heavy volume again in Week 4.

Bears QB Andy Dalton (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions after a limited week of practice. HC Matt Nagy has yet to name a starter after saying earlier in the week that Dalton, Justin Fields and Nick Foles were all in consideration. We'll let you know as soon as we hear who's getting the call for Chicago.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. He's on track to return for Sunday's game vs. the Packers. Even with a washed-up Ben Roethlisberger, Johnson's volume makes him a solid WR2 play.

Bears QB Andy Dalton (knee) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. HC Matt Nagy seems intent on going back to Dalton when he's medically cleared -- which will be a lot easier to do after QB Justin Fields' ugly Week 3. We'll get another update on Dalton tomorrow.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. It's excellent news considering he missed last week's game with a knee injury we still don't know anything about. Johnson appears to have a chance to play vs. the Packers on Sunday. We'll get another update tomorrow.

Giants LB Blake Martinez tore his left ACL in Sunday's loss to the Falcons and will miss the rest of the season. That leaves Tae Crowder as the apparent top LB. He played 61 of 62 defensive snaps against Atlanta and led the team with 11 tackles (plus a pass defensed). Reggie Ragland came on for 65% playing time. The Giants might also consider altering S Jabrill Peppers' role, with Martinez down. Peppers has seen his playing time sag amid struggles in coverage, but he would offer above-average speed at LB and spent a season at the position at the end of college. Martinez will still be just 28 when next season begins, but his contract plus the injury could leave the Giants with an offseason decision to make. The final year on his deal carries a $14.2 million cap hit, according to Spotrac, vs. $5.5 million in dead money if New York trades or releases Martinez.
