Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny has shed some weight this offseason, currently tipping the scales at 230 pounds. Conditioning was a problem for him at times during his rookie season, but it doesn't sound like that'll be an issue in 2019. Penny has reportedly impressed in spring workouts, while RB Chris Carson has been sidelined after knee surgery. We're still projecting Carson to lead this backfield in carries this year, but there's room for Penny to tally 150+ attempts in Seattle's run-heavy attack.
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll called RBs Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny "a one-two punch" heading into 2019. That's not what we saw last year, when Carson maintained clear lead duties throughout the season. But Penny showed well in limited action, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. And Seattle thought highly enough of him to select him 27th overall last spring. "I don’t know who’s one and who’s two, it doesn’t matter to me. I thought both guys did a really good job this year," Carroll said from the Combine on Thursday. "They’re good football players and we love what they bring. They’re not the same, their running style are different, but there’s plenty of room for both of those guys, so I’m excited for both of them.” The touch distribution in Seattle's backfield will be a big fantasy storyline as we get into summertime.
Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (knee) is active for today’s game against the Cardinals. He could see an increased workload if Seattle wants to get Chris Carson some rest heading into the playoffs. But Penny should still be considered just a RB3 or flex flier.
Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. He put in a full week of practice and should play. Penny has been getting a handful of carries behind Chris Carson but could see more work in the finale with the Seahawks having little to play for.
Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (knee) is inactive for tonight’s game against the Chiefs. That should mean a few extra carries for RB Chris Carson.
Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game against the Chiefs. HC Pete Carroll labeled him a game-time decision on Friday. Penny shouldn’t be in your fantasy plans, and his return would be just a slight ding to RB Chris Carson’s fantasy value.
