Week 1 FanDuel Cash-Game Picks

By Kevin English | Updated on Mon, 22 Apr 2024 . 4:35 PM EDT

Quarterback

Josh Allen, Bills ($8,100 vs. Pittsburgh)

I don’t mind paying up here for a few key reasons:

  1. It’s Week 1. Pricing is soft across all positions, so you won’t struggle to make a lineup you like with Allen.
  2. Allen can run: He ranked top-4 among QBs in rush attempts and rush TDs in 2020.
  3. You know he’ll throw it often, too. Buffalo ranked T-4th in situation neutral pass rate last year and remains built to lean pass.

Beyond that, Pittsburgh enters with some defensive question marks. How many snaps will pass rusher T.J. Watt play after barely practicing (contract dispute)? How does LB Devin Bush perform coming off an October ACL tear? Pittsburgh will also be without DL Stephon Tuitt, a solid pass rusher.

Allen shows up as the top $/per point QB on the main slate. Trevor Lawrence ($6,800 at Houston) sticks out if you’re looking to spend down at the position.
