Raiders RB Latavius Murray (toe) remained sidelined on Wednesday. It's not a good start for his chances to playing against the Chiefs this weekend. Murray is reportedly dealing with turf toe, which often lingers for multiple weeks. RBs DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard split backfield duties last week and would likely do the same this Sunday if Murray sits.

Raiders RB Latavius Murray (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. He didn’t practice all week and could be hampered for a while with what’s reportedly a case of turf toe. DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard will lead Oakland’s backfield this weekend, with Jamize Olawale potentially seeing short-yardage work. Washington is the best fantasy play and looks like a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3/flex in the plus matchup.

Raiders RB Latavius Murray is dealing with turf toe, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. There'd been confusion over whether Murray has a toe or foot injury. Neither is good for a RB, and turf toes can sap a guy's explosion and linger for a while. Raiders OC Bill Musgrave said Thursday that he "hopes" to have Murray for this weekend's game against the Chargers. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Raiders RB Latavius Murray will test his foot/toe injury on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan. Colleague Adam Schefter called Murray "doubtful" to play vs. the Chargers this weekend, but it doesn't sound like Murray's chances are dead quite yet. We'll continue to keep an eye on the situation.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Raiders RB Latavius Murray is "doubtful" to play against the Chargers on Sunday due to a foot injury suffered last week. Murray "wants to play," per Schefter, but didn't practice on Wednesday. (Oakland listed him with a toe injury, rather than foot.) Murray's absence will leave the Raiders with DeAndre Washington, Jalen Richard and Jamize Olawale. It's unclear at this point how the touches will be divvied. Washington paced that trio with 8 touches last week but actually played fewer snaps than Richard and Olawale. We'll look for clues about this backfield over the next few days, but it might turn out to be a situation to avoid.

Raiders reporter Vic Tafur says RB Latavius Murray is “cruising” through the early part of training camp. Murray’s reportedly improved in the passing game, where he averaged a mere 5.7 yards per catch in 2015. It’s tough to project him to catch another 41 balls, but the 26-year-old should approach another 300-touch season if he stays healthy. With that certainly comes top 10 fantasy upside.

Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie considers 5th-round rookie DeAndre Washington a "complete back."  The Texas Tech product is on the smaller side at 5'8 and 204 pounds, but that's a similar size to recent RB1s such as Jamaal Charles (5'11, 199), LeSean McCoy (5'11, 208) and Justin Forsett (5'8, 195).  “DeAndre, he’s more than just a third-down back,” McKenzie said.  “He can pound it up in there. The Raider Nation will find out fast just how physical he is ... He can catch the ball, but he can run between the tackles as well as well as bouncing it outside. We think he’s the total package as a runner. We really like him.”  Washington racked up 124 catches over 4 college seasons.  But he also carried 188 and 233 times, respectively, in the final 2 years and averaged 6.2 yards per carry.  There's opportunity in Oakland's backfield after Latavius Murray mustered just 4.0 yards per carry and 5.7 yards per catch last year.  Washington's progress will be worth monitoring closely this summer.

The Raiders selected RB DeAndre Washington in the 5th round of the 2016 draft.  At 5'8, 204 pounds, he'll probably never be a lead back at the NFL level.  But he averaged 5.6 yards per carry over 4 seasons at Texas Tech and totaled 124 catches.  He ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash at the Combine and posted strong marks in the agility drills.  He could carve out a decent-sized role behind Latavius Murray in Oakland.  Murray, meanwhile, seems safe as the Raiders' 2016 lead back.

RB is "not a glaring need for the Raiders, according to HC Jack Del Rio.  The franchise has seemed lukewarm on Latavius Murray all offseason, but they didn't aggressively pursue any RBs in free agency.  “We do have a good player there," Del Rio said of Murray.  "He was solid. He would tell you there’s more out there. He’s still just scratching the surface. There’s a lot more upside and opportunities to break a tackle or make a guy miss or hit the hole just right. Another year in the system will help him as well.”  Oakland might still add a RB in the draft, but Murray looks like the odds-on favorite to open 2016 as the lead dog.

Raiders RB Latavius Murray (concussion) is active for today's game against the Vikings. He's a solid RB2 despite the difficult matchup.

Wind will be a factor in today's Vikings-Raiders game.  The forecast at kickoff calls for 24 mph winds with gusts up to 40 mph.  That's enough to bench Ks Blair Walsh and Sebastian Janikowski.  Both passing games get slight downgrades.  Minnesota, especially, figures to go run-heavy with Adrian Peterson.

Raiders RB Latavius Murray (concussion) is probable for this weekend’s game against the Vikings. He progressed throughout the week, putting in a limited practice on Thursday and a full workout on Friday. Barring a setback, he’ll be ready for his usual role vs. Minnesota. Murray has tallied 294 yards on 5.7 yards per carry over his last 3 games.

Raiders RB Latavius Murray (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Thursday.  He's making progress through the protocol and has a good shot to be cleared in time for this weekend's game against the Vikings.  We'll have another update on his status tomorrow.

Raiders RB Latavius Murray (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday.  But he's been cleared for physical activity, according to insider Scott Bair, and ran sprints before practice.  That gives him a shot to play against the Vikings this weekend.  We'll see how much progress Murray makes over the next 24 hours.

Raiders HC Jack Del Rio confirmed on Monday that RB Latavius Murray sustained a concussion in the loss to the Steelers.  “Looks like he is going to bounce back fine," Del Rio added.  It's Murray's 2nd concussion in the last 12 months, though.  Consider him no better than 50-50 to be cleared in time for Sunday's game against the Vikings.  Taiwan Jones, Marcel Reece, Roy Helu and Jamize Olawale could all see more action if Murray can't go.
