Colts WRs Michael Pittman (ankle) and Parris Campbell (abdomen) are questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Rams. Both guys were added to the injury report and limited in Friday's practice. Campbell wasn't a fantasy option anyway after running a route on just 65% of pass plays in the opener. Pittman is also better off on fantasy benches this week at less than 100% and in a tough matchup.

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton had surgery this week to alleviate his disc issue, according to Stephen Holder of The Athletic. The team has placed the veteran wideout on IR, but GM Chris Ballard reportedly said they expect Hilton back "sooner than later." The IR stint means Hilton will miss at least 3 games, but it sounds like he might not be out much longer than that. Expect Michael Pittman, Parris Campbell and Zach Pascal to work as the top 3 WRs while Hilton is gone.

Stephen Holder of The Athletic reports that WR T.Y. Hilton is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with an injury he initially suffered in practice last Wednesday. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that he's being evaluated for an "upper back/neck injury." We'll see about the specific diagnosis and return timeline. Hilton already didn't sit high in the rankings, so he's not worth much attention in typical fantasy football drafts. Hilton's absence will help the target outlooks for WRs Michael Pittman, Parris Campbell and Zach Pascal.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Colts QB Carson Wentz (foot) is "trending" toward being ready for the start of the season. That jibes with recent positive reports on Wentz's recovery from August 2 surgery. We're still 32 days away from the Colts' season opener, so we'll continue to monitor Wentz's progress. Mortensen adds that G Quenton Nelson (foot) is also on track to be ready for Week 1. Excellent news for the entire Colts offense.

Colts QB Carson Wentz will undergo foot surgery and is expected to be out 5-12 weeks, HC Frank Reich announced Monday. Wentz's injury reportedly dates back to high school, but a broken bone recently came loose and is causing pain. The surgery will remove that piece of bone. The timeline is wide-ranging and would have Wentz back anywhere between early September and late October. That means Wentz has an outside chance to be ready for Week 1 -- or could be out for about half the season. We'll be on the lookout for updates on his surgery and rehab. But at this point, Wentz isn't worth drafting in lineup-setting leagues and should be considered just a QB3 in best ball. His situation also adds risk to Indianapolis' skill-position players, namely RB Jonathan Taylor and WRs Michael Pittman, T.Y. Hilton and Parris Campbell.

Update: Reich added that he expects to have a better idea of Wentz's return date in about 2-3 weeks.

The Athletic's Stephen Holder predicts that Michael Pittman will become the Colts' #1 WR this season. "If he wants to become the Colts’ go-to wide receiver, the opportunity is there," Holder writes. "And I happen to think he’s very much up to the task." Pittman didn't stuff the stat sheet as a rookie. But his development was stunted in September by a significant calf injury. He returned to play 72+% of the Colts' offensive snaps in each of the final 10 games -- and went for 90 yards in the playoff loss in Buffalo. With T.Y. Hilton past his prime and Parris Campbell's already lengthy injury history, Pittman certainly has a chance to lead this team in targets. We like him as an upside pick at his 8th- or 9th-round price tag.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion) is active for today’s game against the Jaguars. It’s a great matchup, but Pittman has seemingly fallen behind T.Y. Hilton and Zach Pascal on the totem pole, totaling just 7 catches on 14 targets over the past 3 weeks.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Jaguars. He got in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so he’s seemingly on track to get cleared. The matchup on Sunday is pristine, but Pittman has totaled just 7 catches on 14 targets over the past 3 weeks.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. He's made some progress through the protocol. We'll see if he can get clearance for Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars.

Colts WR Michael Pittman has entered the league's concussion protocol. We'll see if he can get cleared in time for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. The rookie has averaged 5.6 targets over Indy's last 8 games.

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (groin) is inactive for today’s game against the Ravens. Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson and Michael Pittman figure to serve as Indy’s top 3 WRs. Pascal is the best bet for targets, but even he’s just a WR4.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (calf) has been activated from IR and is expected to play against the Lions on Sunday. The rookie is worth stashing in deeper leagues but shouldn't be in Week 8 fantasy lineups. Pittman's return does damper the sleeper appeal on WRs Zach Pascal and Marcus Johnson, though.

The Colts have activated WR Michael Pittman (leg) from IR. We'll see when the rookie is ready for game action, but we wouldn't bother stashing him now outside of deep fantasy leagues. He caught 9 of 12 targets for 73 scoreless yards over the season's first 3 weeks.

Colts WR Michael Pittman underwent surgery on Sunday to address compartment syndrome in his calf, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That's the injury that Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett dealt with last November. Per Rapoport, Pittman is expected to be sidelined through the Colts' Week 7 bye. The rookie can be dropped in redraft leagues. Indy is now down to WRs T.Y. Hilton, Zach Pascal, Daurice Fountain and Ashton Dulin.

Colts WR Michael Pittman suffered an ankle injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Jets. He's questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.

Colts WRs Michael Pittman (toe) and Zach Pascal (ankle) are active for today’s game against the Vikings. They’ll serve as Indy’s #3 and #4 WRs.

Colts WRs Michael Pittman (toe) and Zach Pascal (ankle) are questionable for this weekend’s game against the Vikings. Pittman was limited in practice all week, while Pascal got in a full practice on Friday. Neither guy is a fantasy option, but their absences would mean more targets for WRs T.Y. Hilton and Parris Campbell.
