The Dolphins have released RB Sony Michel, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. It's a little surprising after the team signed Michel to essentially the same contract as Raheem Mostert this offseason, but Myles Gaskin worked in ahead of Michel in the team's final preseason game. Michel's departure leaves Mostert as the clear top partner for Chase Edmonds in the Miami backfield. Mostert has been a value in fantasy football drafts. We'll see how much his ADP climbs with Michel's departure. Gaskin is now interesting near the end of drafts as well.

Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed is a healthy scratch for tonight's game vs. the Saints. Miami will roll with RBs Duke Johnson, Myles Gaskin and Phillip Lindsay.

Dolphins RBs Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed are active for today’s game vs. the Jets. Both guys came off the COVID list on Friday. Gaskin had been operating as Miami's clear lead back, averaging 17.6 carries and 3.2 targets over his last 5 games. He’s an upside RB2 vs. the Jets’ league-worst RB defense. RB Duke Johnson is also active for Miami. RB Malcolm Brown remains on IR.

Dolphins RBs Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed have been activated from the COVID list. Both guys should be available for Sunday's game vs. the Jets. Gaskin has been operating as Miami's clear lead back, averaging 17.6 carries and 3.2 targets over his last 5 games. That stretch includes a 96-total-yard, 1-TD outing vs. the Jets back in Week 11.

Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed has joined teammate Myles Gaskin on the COVID list. We'll see if they can get cleared for Miami's next game in Week 15 vs. the Jets. The Dolphins currently have Phillip Lindsay on the active roster, Duke Johnson and Gerrid Doaks on the practice squad and Malcolm Brown on IR.

Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin tested positive for COVID, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Gaskin is vaccinated, so there's a chance he's cleared in time for Miami's Week 15 game vs. the Jets. If not, the Dolphins would be down to RBs Phillip Lindsay and Salvon Ahmed on the active roster. RBs Duke Johnson and Gerrid Doaks are on the practice squad, while RB Malcolm Brown (quad) is eligible to come off IR

Dolphins RB Phillip Lindsay (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Giants. Myles Gaskin has averaged 18.3 carries and 3.5 targets over his last 4 games and should continue to see plenty of volume today.

Dolphins RB Phillip Lindsay (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Giants. He got some mop-up work last week but wasn't a real threat to RB Myles Gaskins' volume. Of course, Lindsay's absence doesn't hurt Gaskins' Week 13 outlook.

The Dolphins have claimed RB Phillip Lindsay off waivers. He joins a backfield that has been dominated by Myles Gaskin lately. Claiming Lindsay probably means Miami would rather not give Gaskin quite so many touches. The former Texan and Bronco has faired poorly as a passing-down back throughout his career, though. So Gaskin should continue to control at least that area of Miami's backfield. We'd bet on Gaskin remaining a decent option in low RB2 territory, but his touch floor could be coming down. We'll see just what the Dolphins have in mind for Lindsay. Miami has also recently mixed Duke Johnson in and could get Malcolm Brown back from a quad injury that landed him on IR.

Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Jets. RB Duke Johnson, who was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, is active and will serve as the #2 behind Myles Gaskin. Gaskin should handle the vast majority of the backfield work.

Dolphins RB Duke Johnson has been promoted to the active roster. He'll presumably be active for tomorrow's game vs. the Jets, alongside RBs Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed. We wouldn't expect Johnson to steal more than a few touches from Gaskin.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs, finger) will not start today's game vs. the Texans, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Tua reportedly didn't feel good enough during pre-game warmups to start, but he will be active as QB Jacoby Brissett's backup. It's a missed opportunity in an excellent matchup. Brissett was decent in 3 starts earlier this season, averaging 230 yards and 1.3 TDs on a 67% completion rate but just 5.8 yards per attempt. He's only in play in 2-QB and Superflex leagues and is a slight downgrade for Miami's offense.

The Dolphins have signed RB Duke Johnson to their practice squad. The 28-year-old spent a couple of weeks on Jacksonville's practice squad in September but has otherwise been unemployed since being released by the Texans in February. There's opportunity in after RB Malcolm Brown was placed on IR, but Johnson is only worth adding in the deepest of fantasy leagues right now. We'll see if he gets promoted to the active roster.

2:17pm EDT 10/25/21

Dolphins RB Malcolm Brown will be placed on IR with a quad injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Falcons, HC Brian Flores said Monday. Brown will be out at least the next 3 weeks vs. the Bills, Texans and Ravens. He's played 28% of Miami's offensive snaps and averaged 4.7 carries and .7 targets per game, so his absence leaves behind a little extra work for RBs Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed.

Dolphins HC Brian Flores confirmed that QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) is on track to start Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars, barring a setback between now and then. We wouldn't trust Tagovailoa in starting lineups outside of 2-QB leagues, but he should be an upgrade over QB Jacoby Brissett for Miami's offense.
