The Dolphins signed WR Chosen "the-artist-formerly-known-as-Robbie" Anderson. A valuable deep threat early in his career, Anderson has been one of the least efficient WRs in the NFL over the past 2 seasons. He ranked 97th among 101 qualifiers in yards per route run with the Panthers in 2021, and then finished 94th out of 96 last year in Carolina and then Arizona. In Miami, Anderson will duke it out with WRs Braxton Berrios and Cedrick Wilson for action behind target hogs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. You can continue to ignore Anderson in early best-ball drafts.
The Cardinals have released WR Chosen (Robby) Anderson. Last year, he managed only 20 catches, 282 yards and 1 score across 16 games. Going on 30, we’d bet against the veteran re-emerging as a fantasy factor.
Cardinals WR Robbie Anderson is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Falcons with a back injury. His absence leaves Marquise Brown, Greg Dortch and A.J. Green as Arizona's top 3 WRs.
Update: Anderson has been ruled out.
Cardinals WR Rondale Moore drew a team-high 10 targets in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. He caught 8 of them for 69 yards. TE Zach Ertz followed with 8 targets, catching 5 for 40 yards and a TD. WR DeAndre Hopkins claimed the team's other TD among his 4 catches for 36 yards on 5 targets. WR Robbie Anderson added 1 reception among 3 targets for a loss of 4 yards.
Cardinals WR Robbie Anderson is active for tonight's game vs. the Saints. He joined the team just 3 days ago. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier tonight that Anderson might play "more than you expect," but he still can't be trusted in Week 7 fantasy lineups.
Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury wouldn't say whether WR Robbie Anderson will play vs. the Saints on Thursday night. "If we do it, it'll be very limited and make sure he knows (his plays)," Kingsbury said. No surprise considering Anderson just joined the Cardinals on Monday. He's not a Week 7 fantasy option but is worth stashing in fantasy leagues of 12+ teams.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the foot injury for Cardinals WR Marquise Brown is "potentially season-ending." Brown is undergoing further testing today to determine the extent. The trade for WR Robbie Anderson also seemed to point to concern on the team's part. We'll watch for the official diagnosis on Brown.
The Panthers are trading WR Robbie Anderson to the Cardinals, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Anderson had already been on the trade block before his sideline altercation with Carolina's coaching staff in Sunday's loss to the Rams. He heads from a pathetic Panthers passing game to a struggling Cardinals passing game. When Arizona's WR corps is healthy, Anderson might be the #4 WR behind DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown and Rondale Moore. Brown went down with a foot injury late in Week 6, though, so we'll see about his status. Anderson is worth stashing in fantasy leagues of 12+ teams, but we're not very excited about his rest-of-season outlook.
Update: The Panthers are receiving a 2024 6th-round pick and a 2025 7th-rounder for Anderson, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Panthers WR Robbie Anderson was sent to the locker room by interim HC Steve Wilks in the 2nd half of Sunday's game vs. the Rams. Anderson got into it with WRs coach Joe Dailey a bit earlier. Carolina would love to find a trade partner for Anderson, but don't be surprised if he's cut this week.
Panthers WR Robbie Anderson is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. He was added to Friday's injury report with an illness and listed as questionable. Hopefully you don’t need to use Anderson in fantasy lineups today.
Panthers WR Robbie Anderson was added to Friday's injury report with an illness. He didn't practice and is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Rams. Guys tend to play through illnesses, but you'll need to check back Sunday to see if Anderson is active if you're hoping to use him in a Week 6 fantasy lineup.
Panthers WR Robbie Anderson led the Panthers in targets (8), receptions (5) and receiving yards (102) in Sunday's loss to the Browns, with an 75-yard TD delivering most of that production. WR D.J. Moore checked in 2nd with 6 targets, catching 3 for 43 yards. Anderson claimed nearly 30% of Panthers targets for the game, with Moore garnering 22.2%.
Per NFL insider Adam Caplan, Panthers WR Robbie Anderson has “kind of revived his career at training camp.” Following an offseason tweet suggesting retirement, Anderson’s reportedly been rejuvenated by new QB Baker Mayfield. Citing Panthers sources, Caplan shared that the team knew Mayfield had earned the starting gig after 2 weeks of practice. The QB upgrade and a clear path to the #2 role makes Anderson a nice late-round flier.
The Panthers officially named QB Baker Mayfield their starter. This was expected since Carolina swung a trade for Mayfield in early July. He started the preseason opener over QB Sam Darnold, going 4-of-7 for 45 yards on 1 series. Mayfield is just a lower-end QB2 for fantasy squads, but we expect him to be an upgrade over Darnold for RB Christian McCaffrey, WR D.J. Moore and the rest of the Panthers offense.
The Browns are trading QB Baker Mayfield to the Panthers for a conditional 5th-round pick in 2024, NFL Network reports. The 2 teams "split the financials to make it happen," according to Ian Rapoport, so Carolina is presumably picking up about half of Mayfield's nearly $19 million 2022 cap hit. Mayfield is coming off a disappointing, injury-riddled 2021 season but played well the previous year, finishing 10th among 32 qualifiers in Pro Football Focus' passing grades. In fact, Mayfield earned higher PFF passing grades in each of his first 3 NFL seasons than QB Sam Darnold has managed in any of his 4 NFL seasons. So Mayfield is a tangible upgrade for D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, Terrace Marshall and Christian McCaffrey. Mayfield himself looks like just a middling QB2, although those weapons give him some weekly upside. Check out the updated projections for the Panthers offense.
Update: Per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Mayfield agreed to shave about $3.5 million off his 2022 salary. The Browns will pay him $10.5 million this year; the Panthers around $5 million.
Panthers WR Robby Anderson missed most of OTAs and minicamp with a nagging hip injury. It’s been an eventful offseason for the former Jet, who contemplated retirement over the spring. If healthy, Anderson should slot into the #2 role and have little trouble beating a WR72 ADP (per FFPC best ball drafting). “I think in this offense, Robbie will have a ton of production,” HC Matt Rhule said. “I think last year was a confluence of many different events. And I think in this offense, the way we’re doing things, he’ll have a ton of production.”
