49ers RB JaMycal Hasty broke his collarbone in Sunday's loss to the Saints, HC Kyle Shanahan said. Hasty will be out for a while and can be dropped from fantasy rosters. Shanny said that he thinks RBs Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman will be back after the Week 11 bye. Both of those guys are worth stashing if they're available in your league.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Saints. RBs Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson remain on IR, leaving the backfield to Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal. McKinnon served as the clear lead back last time out, out-touching Hasty 15 to 6.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan confirmed that RB Tevin Coleman (knee) won't play against the Packers on Thursday night. It's unclear how much time Coleman will miss with this latest knee injury. San Francisco is down to RBs JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon vs. Green Bay's league-worst RB defense.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman re-injured his knee in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Seahawks. He's officially questionable to return. Rookie JaMycal Hasty has been operating as San Francisco's lead back with Coleman out.

Update: The 49ers have ruled Coleman out for the game.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman (knee) is officially active for today’s game against the Seahawks. We’re completely guessing how snaps and touches will be divvied between Coleman, Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty. But our guess is that Coleman leads the way in carries.

The 49ers have activated RB Tevin Coleman (knee) to the 53-man roster. He's now eligible to play against the Seahawks on Sunday. Assuming Coleman is active, he'll join Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty in San Francisco's backfield. A 100% Coleman would be the favorite to lead the group in touches, but it's unclear how much he's ready to handle after a 5-week absence. Avoiding this situation might be your best bet, especially against a solid Seattle run defense.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman (knee) has been activated from IR. That makes him eligible to return for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, although it's still unclear if he'll be ready. We should have a better idea of his Week 8 status by Friday afternoon.

The 49ers placed RB Jeff Wilson on IR with his high-ankle sprain. He's out for at least the next 3 games. RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) is out for at least 2 more games, while RB Tevin Coleman (knee) remains iffy for Sunday's tilt against the Seahawks. San Francisco might be down to RBs JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon for that one. Hasty should be owned in pretty much all fantasy leagues at this point.

Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury reports that 49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr. suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Patriots. We'll see about the expected return timeline, but this likely makes Wilson a drop in nearly all redraft leagues. RB Tevin Coleman should return soon and faces big opportunity when he does make it back. If Coleman's not ready for Week 8, then rookie JaMycal Hasty figures to see an uptick in work. He logged 9 carries each of the past 2 weeks.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman (knee) "isn't likely" to return for this weekend's game against the Patriots, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner. San Francisco will also be without RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) for that one, while RB Jeff Wilson (calf) is uncertain. That leaves Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty as the team's healthy RBs.

Niners RB Raheem Mostert sustained a high-ankle sprain in Sunday night's win over the Rams and is headed to IR, according to Grant Cohn of That means he'll miss at least 3 games. We'll see beyond that. Jerick McKinnon is the guy we know will be involved in replacing Mostert for Sunday's game at New England. He garnered just 8 touches for 28 total yards against the Rams, though. Jeff Wilson missed Week 6 with a calf injury he suffered during the practice week. That left rookie JaMycal Hasty working in his place against the Rams. Tevin Coleman is eligible to come off IR for Week 7, but we don't yet know whether his sprained knee will be ready. We'll see how this backfield picture develops through the week.

Niners RB Raheem Mostert left Sunday night's game against the Rams with a left ankle injury. The team ruled him out for the rest of the game, which isn't great news for his Week 7 outlook. We'll watch for further updates on his status. If Mostert misses further time, Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson would step back to prominence. Tevin Coleman should also be nearing a return from the knee sprain that has kept him from playing since Week 2.

The 49ers have placed RB Tevin Coleman on IR for his knee injury. We’d bet on it being a short-term stay, but the move sidelines Coleman for at least the next 3 games. San Francisco promoted undrafted rookie RB Ja’Mycal Hasty from the practice squad to fill his roster spot. Hasty averaged 5.2 yards per carry career at Baylor and caught 76 passes over his final 3 seasons there. He’s worth keeping an eye on in case of another 49ers RB injury — and a potential dynasty stash

49ers RB Tevin Coleman is expected to miss "about 4 weeks" with his sprained knee, HC Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday. Coleman wasn't doing much before going down and is droppable in standard-sized fantasy leagues. With RB Raheem Mostert (knee) also expected to miss Week 3, it'll be Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson in the backfield vs. the Giants.

The 49ers expect RB Tevin Coleman to miss "multiple weeks" with the knee injury he suffered late in Sunday's win over the Jets, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That leaves San Francisco expecting to miss its top 2 RBs for Sunday's visit to the Giants. Jeff Wilson and Jerick McKinnon will lead the backfield work and are both worth pursuing -- at appropriate levels -- on waiver wires this week.

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan said RB Tevin Coleman also left Sunday's win over the Jets with a knee injury, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Coleman's last touch came in the 2nd half of the 4th quarter. The 49ers had 1 more possession and ran Jeff Wilson. We haven't seen anything else about Coleman's injury. We'll see what the next few days reveal. Wilson and Jerick McKinnon would obviously gain big touch upside if both Coleman and Raheem Mostert miss Week 3.

Update: Shanahan confirmed this injury in his Monday press conference and says they're awaiting MRI results.

49ers RB Raheem Mostert suffered a knee injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Jets and is done for the day. That leaves San Francisco with RBs Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman is active for today’s game against the Cardinals. There was concern that he’d be held out with his sickle-cell trait considering the poor air quality in Santa Clara. Coleman might still be limited today and is a risky fantasy play.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the 49ers aren't sure if RB Tevin Coleman will play against the Cardinals today. Coleman has a sickle-cell trait, and the air quality in Santa Clara will be poor today due to the surrounding wild fires. "Decision belongs to Coleman," Schefter adds. Niners-Cardinals doesn't kick off until 4:25 pm ET. So unless you have a viable late-game alternative, Coleman should be on your bench. He might be limited even if he ends up active. Coleman's absence would mean more work for RBs Raheem Mostert and Jerick McKinnon.

The Athletic's Matt Barrows expects RB Tevin Coleman to remain the 49ers starter this season. "[HC] Kyle Shanahan and [RBs coach] Bobby Turner liked starting games with Coleman because he’s a little bigger and more physical runner than the others," Barrows writes. "So my guess is that the arrangement will be the same as last season: Coleman starts, with Turner then using his feel for who’s hot that day dictating the snap loads for the rest of the game." Who gets the 1st snap in San Francisco's backfield is hardly relevant. But the takeaway here is that this remains a committee attack with Coleman, Raheem Mostert and potentially Jerick McKinnon. We're shying away from Mostert at his RB26 ADP. Coleman is a better value at RB38.
