        Ricky Pearsall Sidelined Thursday

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (ankle, knee) did not practice on Thursday. He played through the ankle issue last weekend, but the knee -- an aggravation of his previous PCL injury -- knocked him out of the Titans game. We're not expecting Pearsall to play vs. the Colts on Monday night but will keep you updated on his status.

Ricky Pearsall Uncertain For Week 16

        12:48am UTC 12/16/25

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall is iffy for next Monday night's game vs. the Colts after suffering ankle and knee injuries in the Week 15 win over the Titans, HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday. Pearsall was able to return after hurting an ankle on a hip-drop tackle in the first quarter, but a knee injury in the fourth knocked him out. Shanahan said that it's an aggravation of the PCL injury that cost Pearsall six games earlier this season. "It's real painful for awhile, but it can go away," Shanahan said. "Not at all like it was when he first did it, but it does take time for that pain to go away. Hopefully sooner than later." We'll keep you updated on Pearsall's status throughout the week, but fantasy owners should not be banking on him playing against the Colts.

Hip-Drop Tackle Gives Ricky Pearsall a Scare

        9:32pm UTC 12/14/25

Niners WR Ricky Pearsall limped off the field in the first quarter after a hip-drop tackle by Titans S Kevin Winston on his first reception. He was pretty clearly favoring his left knee but remained on the sideline. We'll see about his status as the game progresses. It's at least the opposite knee from the one in which he suffered his early-season PCL injury.

Update: Pearsall returned before the end of the quarter.

        Christian McCaffrey Active

        8:00pm UTC 12/14/25

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (back) is active for today’s game vs. the Titans. He was added to the injury report as questionable on Saturday, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported a short time later that McCaffrey would be “good to go” for this one. We haven’t heard anything about his snaps or touches being limited today. McCaffrey remains a must-start.

Brandon Aiyuk Won't Play This Season

        1:32am UTC 12/14/25

The 49ers officially put an end to WR Brandon Aiyuk's season on Saturday, placing him on the reserve/left squad list. Aiyuk has not played since suffering a multi-ligament knee injury in Week 7 of the 2024 season. It's unclear exactly where he's at in his rehab, but Aiyuk never seemed likely to play this year after we learned the team voided the more than $25 million guaranteed for 2026 in his contract. Aiyuk is expected to be released this offseason and figures to draw plenty of interest. He turns 28 in March and has averaged 62 receiving yards per game for his career.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey has been added to the injury report with a back issue and is now questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Titans. We don't have any other details at this point. McCaffrey has no noted history of back trouble. We'll of course keep you updated on his status. But RB Brian Robinson would turn into a strong fantasy play if McCaffrey misses tomorrow's game and needs to be rostered in all fantasy leagues.

Pearsall caught 2 of his 3 targets for just 13 yards and failed to find the end zone. Since he's been back in the lineup, Pearsall has been held to 0, 6, and 13 receiving yards in three games.

The forecast for today's 49ers-Browns game calls for sustained winds of 25 mph with gusts around 35 mph. The total in this game has dropped from 42.5 to 35.5. Expect a run-heavy game plan from both sides. RBs Christian McCaffrey and Quinshon Judkins can stay in fantasy lineups. TE George Kittle is the only comfortable play from either passing game. The 49ers have voided the more than $25 million guaranteed for 2026 in WR Brandon Aiyuk's contract, according to The Athletic. Aiyuk reportedly skipped meetings and other activities in recent months, as he's continued to work back from his October 2024 knee injury. Aiyuk will not be contesting the voided money. There have been "repeated overtures from team officials and even players to try to bring Aiyuk back into the fold," per The Athletic. But "it’s now likely that the 27-year-old has played his last game with the franchise." Aiyuk is expected to be released after the season.

We’ll look for any reports of a snap count for Pearsall in this one, but he’s at least a bit riskier than usual in fantasy lineups coming off the extended absence. Pearsall will still make sense in plenty of fantasy lineups, though. He posted 4-108-0, 4-56-0, and 8-117-0 receiving lines over the first three weeks of the season.

Brock Purdy Will Start Week 11

        11:09pm UTC 11/13/25

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) will start Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals, HC Kyle Shanahan said Thursday. Purdy's toe evidently responded well to the increased work in Wednesday's practice. It's worth remembering that Shanahan previously said that Purdy likely wouldn't be back to 100% at any point this season. Don't expect his rushing production to reach the 21.5 yards per game he averaged last year. But Purdy can still help fantasy teams the rest of the way. He tallied 277-2-2 and 309-2-2 passing lines in his only two games earlier this season. Purdy gets fine matchups the next two weeks against the Cardinals and Panthers, followed by a tougher draw vs. the Browns and then a Week 14 bye. Purdy then closes the season with three nice spots vs. the Titans, Colts, and Bears.

Ricky Pearsall Back At Practice Wednesday

        2:37am UTC 11/13/25

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) got in a limited practice on Wednesday for the first time since going down in Week 4. HC Kyle Shanahan said before the workout that Pearsall is trending toward a return for Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals. "They told me he is healthy, so I'll see today from my own eyes when he practices, and I'm sure he'll look that way," Shanahan said. "As long as he does, then he is good to go." Pearsall was off to a strong start before the knee injury, posting 4-108-0, 4-56-0, and 8-117-0 receiving lines over the first three weeks of the season. It's worth noting that TE George Kittle missed two of those games and most of the third, and WR Jauan Jennings missed one. Pearsall will be returning to a more crowded pass-catching corps but should still have a big role if healthy. We'll look for more updates on his status but would consider him a risk/reward WR3 in Week 11 fantasy lineups for now.
