Rams WR Robert Woods resumed jogging this week as he works through his recovery from a November 12 ACL tear. “It’s going really well,” Woods said from the Super Bowl. “Initially, you hear ACL injury and you think it’s over. Nah. Being able to recover from the surgery and be able to have a great rehab and team to get me back right, I’m progressing really well." Woods is tentatively expected to be cleared for spring minicamp. We'll continue to track his progress.

Lovie Smith has been named Texans HC. He has 11 seasons of NFL HC experience -- 9 with the Bears, 2 with the Bucs -- compiling an 89-87 record. Smith left the NFL from 2016 to 2020 to coach Illinois, where he went 17-39. He returned to the pros this past year to serve as Texans DC. Houston is expected to promote passing-game coordinator Pep Hamilton to OC, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

The Texans fired HC David Culley and OC Tim Kelly. These guys were set up to fail with an expansion-level roster and might have actually overachieved by winning 4 games this season. GM Nick Caserio is expected to tap into the Patriots pipeline for his next HC.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon has been activated from the COVID list. We'll watch his practice participation this week, but he should be ready for his usual workload in Saturday's Wild Card game vs. the Raiders.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon was added to the COVID list on Wednesday. The timing here means that he can't be cleared in time for Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the Browns. Mixon should be back for the opening round of the playoffs. His absence this weekend will leave Samaje Perine as Cincinnati's likely lead back and rookie Chris Evans in a change-of-pace, pass-catching role. RB Trayveon Williams is also on the active roster.

Texans S Justin Reid came away from Sunday's loss to the 49ers with "slight" ankle and knee injuries, according to Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 in Houston. DE Jonathan Greenard also left the game with a shoulder injury. We'll see about the status for each player this week.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. It looks like he’s ready for his usual role on Sunday. The matchup vs. Baltimore’s 5th-ranked RB defense is a bigger concern than the ankle.

Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair is active for tonight's game against the Titans. Use him as planned, which is LB3 territory in our Week 16 IDP rankings.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) put in another full practice on Thursday. He's on track to play his usual role vs. the Ravens this weekend.

Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Titans with the elbow injury that kept him our of Sunday's game. He put in limited practices all 3 days this week. We'll see about his status Thursday evening.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) put in a full practice on Wednesday. He's evidently good to go for this weekend's game vs. the Ravens after hurting an ankle late in last week's win over the Broncos.

Bengals HC Zac Taylor confirmed on Monday that RB Joe Mixon has a sprained ankle but called his situation "encouraging." Taylor added that Mixon is expected to be limited to open the practice week. This -- plus the fact that he got back on the field for Cincinnati's kneel downs in the win over the Broncos -- has us thinking that Mixon will be able to play vs. the Ravens on Sunday. But we'll keep you updated on his status throughout this week.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon injured his left ankle late in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He never re-entered but was at least trying to keep the ankle loose by jogging on the sidelines. That at least suggests that this isn't a serious injury, but we should learn more on Monday. Samaje Perine will step in as Cincinnati's lead back if Mixon misses times.

Texans TE Brevin Jordan (hand) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He put in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday. Jordan has some DFS appeal but shouldn’t be in your redraft plans.

Texans TE Brevin Jordan (hand) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Jaguars. He put in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday. We’ll find out if he’s active around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. Jordan has some DFS appeal but shouldn’t be in your redraft plans.

Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Falcons with the elbow injury he suffered last week. Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles is the next guy up behind him, but Marcell Harris figures to be the #2 LB in playing time Sunday behind Fred Warner.

Browns QB Case Keenum has joined QB Baker Mayfield on the COVID list. That leaves QB Nick Mullens to start Saturday's game vs. the Raiders. Mullens has been on the practice squad since September 1, so he at least has some familiarity with the offense. Mullens made 8 starts for the 49ers between 2018 and 2020 and owns a career 64.5% completion rate, 7.9 yards-per-attempt average and 25 TDs vs. 22 INTs. He's probably not a significant downgrade from Keenum. We're still expecting a run-heavy attack from Cleveland on Saturday.

The Texans look likely to go without their top 2 LBs for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. Christian Kirksey and Kamu Grugier-Hill have each tested positive for COVID. We’ll see whether either LB has a shot to return. Kevin Pierre-Louis and Neville Hewitt figure to lead the LB playing time if they dont

Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair left Sunday's win over the Bengals with an elbow injury. He'll have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the damage, according to multiple reports.

2:57pm EST 12/12/21

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the 49ers. He didn’t practice all week, but Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported this morning that Mixon is a "full go" today.
