Jets RB Le'Veon Bell is active for tonight's game against the Browns. He got a shoulder MRI during the week and was officially questionable, but there don't seem to be any limitations.
Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Browns. He got in limited practices on Friday and Saturday after getting an MRI on that shoulder on Thursday. Both Bell and the team have seemed confident that he'll play vs. Cleveland, but we'll look for another update on his status on Sunday morning.
The MRI on Jets RB Le'Veon Bell's shoulder revealed "no major damage or tears," according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. So Bell will presumably be ready for Monday night's game against the Browns. QB Sam Darnold's absence hurts, but Bell's volume keeps him in must-start territory.
Jets RB Le'Veon Bell is missing practice Thursday and getting an MRI after experiencing shoulder soreness. HC Adam Gase said Thursday morning that he still hopes Bell can play Monday night, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. If he can't, of course, Ty Montgomery would step in. We'll see about the MRI results.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Jets have reached agreement with RB Le'Veon Bell. That positions him in a backfield with Elijah McGuire as the lead incumbent. Bell, of course, is coming off a full year away from football, so we'll have to track his progress in his return this offseason. He joins a Jets team, however, that is spending liberally on both offense and defense in free agency. Bell will make for a risky pick inside the 1st round of fantasy football drafts, given that we don't know how good the Jets offense can be or what kind of target share Bell can expect. But he obviously carries as much upside as just about any player at the position. Bell's arrival gives another boost to QB Sam Darnold's 2nd-year outlook.
Update: Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport report it's a 4-year deal worth $52.5 million in total money.
Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell did not report by today's 4 pm ET deadline and will not play this season. So ends the 2018 Bell saga. He ends up missing the entire campaign and forfeiting $14.5 million. The Steelers would owe Bell about $25 million if they franchise-tag him again next season, so he's fully expected to hit free agency in March. James Conner will serve as Pittsburgh's feature back the rest of this year.
