Lazard still out Thursday

Packers WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) missed practice again on Thursday. He's looking unlikely to play vs. the Bills on Sunday night, but we'll see if Lazard is able to get back on the field tomorrow. WRs Sammy Watkins (hamstring) and Christian Watson (hamstring) remained limited on Thursday.

The Jets have agreed to a four-year, $44 million deal with WR Allen Lazard. The contract includes $22 million in guaranteed money. Lazard logged career-highs in receptions (60) and receiving yards (788) as the Packers' de facto WR1 in the absence of Davante Adams. This move carries a couple of pieces of impact. First, this signing is likely to effectively end WR Corey Davis' tenure with the Jets. Moving on from Davis would free up $10.5 million in cap space for the Jets. Second, Lazard being brought in signals that the franchise is continuing to appeal to the interests of QB Aaron Rodgers. Whether or not Rodgers ultimately becomes the Jets' next signal-caller, Lazard will have to battle with WR Garrett Wilson for targets and likely doesn't carry much appeal beyond being a WR3/WR4 for fantasy managers. Either way, this deal likely means more for real-life football than fantasy football.

He comes with elevated risk playing through that shoulder injury, but there’s plenty of upside against this bad Detroit secondary. Packers WR Christian Watson (concussion) is also active. He can’t be trusted in Week 9 fantasy lineups but does add some downside to WR Romeo Doubs. Watson appeared to be playing ahead of Doubs before exiting early last week.

We’ll get Green Bay’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. If he plays, Lazard will have plenty of fantasy upside against the league’s 26th-ranked WR defense. WR Christian Watson (concussion) is listed as questionable, but he remained limited in Friday’s practice and seems unlikely to be cleared by Sunday.
