Commanders TE John Bates was knocked out of Thursday night's game vs. the Bears with a hamstring injury before seeing a target. That left TE duties to Cole Turner, who finished with 2 catches on 2 targets for 23 yards. We'll see if Bates and/or TE Logan Thomas (calf) make it back for Week 7.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (calf) is out for Thursday night's game vs. the Bears. With Thomas out last week, TEs John Bates and Cole Turner both ran 23 routes and saw 3 targets.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (calf) did not practice on Tuesday. He seems unlikely to play vs. the Bears on Thursday night after hurting his calf last Friday. With Thomas out last week, TEs John Bates and Cole Turner split routes and targets down the middle. Neither guy is a viable Week 6 fantasy play.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (calf) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Titans. TE John Bates figures to lead Washington in pass routes but is just an emergency fantasy play.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (calf) will not play vs. the Titans today, ESPN's John Keim reports. Thomas misses a plus matchup after hurting that calf late in the practice week. Washington will have TEs John Bates, Cole Turner and Armani Rogers active for today's game. Bates is the best fantasy bet but would be a desperation play.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Commanders TE Logan Thomas a "true game-time decision" for today's tilt with the Titans. Thomas was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. We'll get Washington's inactives around 11:30 am ET. It's a plus matchup for Thomas if he plays, but the calf makes him an extremely risky fantasy start.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas missed practice Friday with a calf injury that has him questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. ESPN's John Keim says the TE's status "will be determined Sunday morning." Sounds like Thomas will be risky to trust in fantasy football lineups even if he's active. John Bates figures to start if Thomas can't go. The team also plans to have TE Cole Turner active, with WR Jahan Dotson's absence (hamstring) opening a roster spot.

Commanders QB Carson Wentz threw for just 170 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs in Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Cowboys. WR Curtis Samuel once again led the team in targets (7), catching 4 balls for 38 yards. TE Logan Thomas, WR Terry McLaurin and TE John Bates tied for 2nd with 6 targets apiece. Rookie WR Jahan Dotson led the squad with 43 receiving yards and snagged the lone TD but left early with a hamstring injury. Dallas looked like a negative matchup heading in. A Week 5 home date with the Titans presents rebound potential.

WR Curtis Samuel led the Commanders in targets for the 3rd straight game in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. His 10 stood 1 ahead of WR Terry McLaurin and RB J.D. McKissic and 2 ahead of WR Jahan Dotson. TE Logan Thomas trailed in 5th place with 3 looks. Samuel caught a team-high 7 balls but collected a mere 48 yards (6.9 per catch). McLaurin turned his 6 receptions into 102 yards, while Dotson managed just 2 catches for 10 yards amid 8 targets. Through 3 weeks, QB Carson Wentz ranks 4th in the league in pass attempts, which has helped the volume of every pass-catcher.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. Activated from the PUP list less than 3 weeks ago after last December’s multi-ligament knee injury, Thomas is unlikely to be ready for a full slate of snaps today.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas is "ready to go" for Sunday's opener vs. the Jaguars, according to ESPN's John Keim. We'd be surprised if Thomas played a full allotment of snaps in his first game since last December's knee injury. He was just activated from the PUP list on August 22.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars after a limited week of practice. Activated from the PUP list less than 3 weeks ago, Thomas is unlikely to be ready for a full slate of snaps even if he plays. He’s not a viable Week 1 fantasy option.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. It looks like he has a real chance to play in this weekend's opener vs. the Jaguars -- 9 months after suffering a multi-ligament knee injury. We wouldn't trust Thomas in Week 1 fantasy lineups, but he might be in the mix by the end of September.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas told reporters Monday that he's not yet sure whether he'll play in the regular-season opener. He said he expects to be cleared "this week or next" for a full return from his knee repair and that he's playing without limitations. "Still feel things here and there, but not anything that affects the way I play," he said, according to ESPN's John Keim. Don't plan on using Thomas in Week 1 fantasy lineups. But it seems like he'll be available soon. We'll most likely want to see at least a game out of Thomas before considering him as a fantasy starter.

ESPN's John Keim writes that the "expectation" is that TE Logan Thomas (knee) will return by Week 2 "at the latest." Thomas was activated from the PUP list a week ago after tearing the ACL, MCL and meniscus in his left knee last December. He won't be a reliable fantasy play out of the gate, but Thomas could be a starting option by October.

Washington has activated TE Logan Thomas from the PUP list, making him available to practice a little more than 2 weeks ahead of the regular-season opener. That should point to Thomas being active to open the season, though we'll see how close he can get to regular use before Week 1. He is still just a little more than 8 months behind tearing the ACL, MCL and meniscus in his left knee.
