ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Lions QB Matthew Stafford as a rib-cartilage injury and that the team is "not overly optimistic" he'll play Sunday against the Titans. Detroit is reportedly still keeping open the "possibility" that Stafford toughs it out and plays, but you should plan as though he'll sit. We projected Chase Daniel as the starter in our Week 15 rankings.

Although he hasn't been ruled out for Week 15 yet, Lions QB Matthew Stafford is "in doubt" for Sunday's game at Tennessee, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Stafford was reportedly in an "unbelievable amount of pain" after the game. The QB had X-rays on his injured ribs, but the Lions have yet to announce an official diagnosis. We'll have to watch this situation as the week proceeds. Chase Daniel would start in Stafford's place if the QB can't go.

Lions QB Matt Stafford suffered a rib injury on a 4th-quarter scramble in Sunday's game against the Packers. QB Chase Daniel has replaced him. We'll update Stafford's status when we know more.

Lions QB Matt Stafford (thumb) is active for today’s game against the Bears. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, so the right thumb still seems to be an issue. At less than 100% and in a tough matchup, Stafford is just a lower-end QB2 today.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford (thumb) is active for today’s game against the Panthers. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning that Stafford will have “no limitations” with the ligament injury to his throwing thumb — but we’re still considering him a riskier fantasy play than usual this week.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford is expected to start against the Panthers today and "has no limitations," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That's despite a minor torn ligament in his throwing thumb. That injury still adds some level of risk to Stafford's Week 11 profile. And with WRs Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola out, Stafford looks like more of a QB2 this week.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford (thumb) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Panthers. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Stafford seems to be trending toward playing. But between the injury to his throwing thumb and the absence of WR Kenny Golladay, he’s just a QB2 for Week 11.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford has been diagnosed with a partial tear in a ligament in his right (throwing) thumb, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "They’ll take the week to see how he throws the ball. But Stafford is tough as they come and the expectation is he starts Sunday against the Panthers," Pelissero adds. We'll keep a close eye on Stafford, but the injury to his throwing thumb obviously adds risk to his fantasy profile.

There's "not much concern" about Lions QB Matt Stafford's thumb after tests came back, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Though he may be limited some this week, the initial belief is he won’t miss game time," Rapoport adds. We'll keep an eye on Stafford's status throughout the week, but it sounds like he'll be available for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford hurt his right thumb in Sunday's win over Washington. He played through the issue but said he'll have an MRI on the thumb. We'll see whether the thumb challenges Stafford's availability for Week 11.

Lions QB Matt Stafford exited to get checked for a concussion in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game against the Vikings. We'll update you on the result of that test as soon as we know. QB Chase Daniel has replaced Stafford.

Update: Stafford said after the game that he cleared concussion protocol. He should be fine for Week 10.

Lions QB Matt Stafford has passed his final COVID test and will start against the Vikings today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Stafford was unable to practice all week and will be without WR Kenny Golladay in this one. That has him sitting just outside our top-12 QBs for the week, despite the plus matchup.

The Lions on Saturday activated QB Matthew Stafford from the COVID list. He'll reportedly need to pass 1 more round of testing to be cleared to play Sunday, but it sounds like the team expects that to work out. We'll, of course, see about Stafford's official status Sunday. If he winds up inactive, then Chase Daniel would start.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Lions QB Matt Stafford will be able to play against the Vikings on Sunday if he tests negative for COVID the rest of this week. Stafford was reportedly in close contact with a COVID-positive individual not on the team on Monday. He'll be eligible to come off the COVID list on Sunday barring a positive test. We'll continue to keep a close eye on this situation.

Lions QB Matt Stafford has been placed on the COVID list. It's unclear if he tested positive himself or was in close contact with someone who did. It's also unclear if Stafford has a chance to get cleared in time for Sunday's game against the Vikings. Fantasy owners should be making other plans for now. If Stafford is out this weekend, Detroit would turn to either Chase Daniel or David Blough.

A member of Jacksonville's practice squad tested positive for COVID on Friday night, the team announced. The Jaguars are still planning on playing vs. the Lions on Sunday, but the situation obviously bears monitoring over the next 24 hours.

Lions QB Matt Stafford has been removed from the COVID list. The team said in a statement that Stafford received a false-positive test and did not have the virus. Consider this is a non-issue for now.

Lions QB Matt Stafford has been placed on the COVID list. He joins teammates WR Kenny Golladay and TE T.J. Hockenson. We'll see when these key pieces of Detroit's passing attack are cleared for action.

Lions GM Bob Quinn said from the Combine on Tuesday that QB Matt Stafford (back) will be a "full-go" for the start of the team's offseason program. Stafford's 2019 campaign ended in November with tiny fractures in his upper spine. He avoided surgery, although ESPN's Adam Schefter reported in late November that the injury is "potentially chronic" and "could be an issue for him for years to come." Stafford will be worth watching closely this offseason -- but he looks like a fine value at QB14 ADP in early FFPC best-ball drafts. Lamar Jackson was the only QB to average more fantasy points per game last year.
