Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's walkthrough. So, too, were WR DeSean Jackson (abdomen) and TE Dallas Goedert (calf). Philly figures to be down to WRs Nelson Agholor, J.J. Arcega Whiteside and Mack Hollins for this weekend's game against the Lions.

The start of the new league year at 4 p.m. Wednesday means that Nelson Agholor's $9.387 million salary for 2019 is now guaranteed, according to Pro Football Talk. Agholor had been rumored to be on the trade block or even a cut candidate. Barring a trade now, though, he'll be back with the Eagles for the final season on his rookie contract. Agholor will need to fight for the #3 target role in a crowded pass-catching crew that added DeSean Jackson via trade. He'll merely be a late-round option in fantasy football drafts.

The Eagles have acquired WR Golden Tate from the Lions in exchange for a 3rd-round pick. Tate figures to keep his slot role in Philly, pushing Nelson Agholor to the outside. He's unlikely to match the 9.9 targets per game he's averaged in Detroit so far this season, though, with Agholor, Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz to contend with. Tate looks like more of a WR3 with big-game potential the rest of the way. His arrival is a nice boost for QB Carson Wentz. Meanwhile in Detroit, both Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay are in for big volume boosts. T.J. Jones is the favorite to step into the #3 WR role but is a long shot to be a fantasy factor.

Eagles QB Carson Wentz (knee) has been medically cleared and will start Sunday's game against the Colts, the team announced Monday. Philly has been extremely cautious bringing Wentz back from last December's torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. He's reportedly been throwing well in practice, but his mobility inside and out of the pocket remains a question. Wentz will be a risk/reward Week 3 fantasy play in a plus matchup. His return is excellent news for the rest of the Eagles' skill-position guys. QB Nick Foles totaled 451 yards with just 1 TD and 1 INT over the first 2 weeks.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game against the Bucs. He put in 3 limited practices this week, so perhaps he has a shot to return for Week 3. Nelson Agholor and Mike Wallace will again serve as Philly’s top 2 WRs this weekend.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery told MMQB's Jenny Vrentas on Thursday night that he has "a couple more visits with the doctor" before he can get back on the field. Vrentas said Jeffery nodded when asked if he was still a few weeks away from playing. The team had reportedly hoped to get him back by Week 3, but that looks like a shaky expectation right now. Jeffery's absence should leave more targets available for WRs Mike Wallace and Nelson Agholor and could help TE Dallas Goedert build his early-season red-zone role. The rookie drew an end-zone target (incomplete) in Thursday's win over the Falcons.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is expected to miss "at least" the first 2 games of the season. Schefter adds that Jeffery won't land on the reserve/PUP list, which means the Eagles expect him back before Week 7. But it might be October before we can trust him in fantasy lineups. We just moved Jeffery further down the WR rankings. While he's sidelined, Nelson Agholor will serve as Philly's #1 WR with Mike Wallace as the #2. TE Zach Ertz and the RBs should also garner a few extra targets.

Eagles WR Nelson Agholor returned to practice Sunday for the 1st time in "a while," according to Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com. Agholor had been out since early August with an injury HC Doug Pederson deemed only "lower body." Agholor now has about a week and a half to work into football shape before the Thursday night regular-season opener.

Eagles HC Doug Pederson said Tuesday that WR Nelson Agholor is dealing with a "lower-body injury." He's been sidelined for about a week now. Pederson wouldn't provide any other details but said the plan is to get Agholor ready for Week 1. We'll keep an eye on him over the next few weeks. Between QB Carson Wentz's knee, WR Alshon Jeffery's shoulder and now Agholor, Philly's passing game is on shaky ground.

NJ Advance Media's Eliot Shorr-Parks believes Nelson Agholor "should be the Eagles' top targeted receiver on offense this season." We always take beat-writer projections with a big grain of salt. But it's certainly worth noting that Shorr-Parks highlights Agholor as 1 of the team's most improved players early in camp. (And that's coming off a 62-768-8 campaign.) "Agholor has been close to unstoppable during the team drills at training camp," Shorr-Parks writes. "His damage has been done all over the field. He has worked the middle of the field. He has gotten behind the Eagles' defense. He has turned short catches into long gains." Agholor spent time with Hall-of-Famer Randy Moss this offseason and has displayed stronger hands and a bigger catch radius. With WR Alshon Jeffery still recovering from shoulder surgery, there's at least opportunity for Agholor to open the season as Philly's top WR. He's a fine value at his 9th-round ADP.

Eagles insider Geoff Mosher believes the team's slot job is Nelson Agholor's "to lose." The former 1st-rounder reportedly had an impressive spring filling in for WR Jordan Matthews (knee) with the 1st-team offense. "He showed reliable hands, excellent route-running and, most importantly, a newfound confidence that had been lacking in his rookie and sophomore seasons," Mosher writes. It's unclear if Agholor claiming the slot job would kick Matthews outside or out of the starting lineup altogether. (Alshon Jeffery is locked in, and the Eagles also added Torrey Smith this offseason.) We're also not yet completely buying Agholor's emergence based on pad-less spring practices. It'll certainly be a situation to watch over the next few weeks, though. Jeffery is the only reasonably safe pick in Philly's WR corps right now.

ESPN's Tim McManus writes that Eagles WR Nelson Agholor "was easily one of the standouts of the spring." QB Carson Wentz came away from OTAs and minicamp impressed as well. "He's always been an explosive guy, but boy, it sure seems like he might have gotten quicker and more explosive this offseason," said quarterback Carson Wentz. "He's getting open, making plays. It's good to see." Agholor reportedly worked in the slot quite a bit with Jordan Matthews out nursing knee tendinitis. Once Matthews returns, Agholor's likely looking at no better than the #4 WR spot in an Eagles pass offense with plenty to prove. He'll have a tough time returning any fantasy value in 2017. But a potential turnaround keeps the 24-year-old in the mix as a stash for dynasty owners -- especially with Matthews and Alshon Jeffery in contract years.

The Eagles have agreed to a 3-year, $15 million deal with WR Torrey Smith. Philly trotted out 1 of the weaker WR corps in the league last year, with no field-stretching presence. Smith will change that. He owns a career 17.0 yards-per-catch average with 25 receptions of 40+ yards across 6 seasons. Smith struggled the past 2 years in San Francisco but remains just 28 and will get much better QB play in Philadelphia. We'll see exactly how the WR depth chart shakes out with Smith, Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor and Dorial Green-Beckham.

Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, but ESPN's Adam Caplan reports that he's "more to the doubtful side to play." Matthews has been dealing with the ankle issue for a while and doesn't need to push it in the meaningless finale. His absence would leave Nelson Agholor and Dorial Green-Beckham as Philly's top 2 WRs. TE Zach Ertz would be the best bet for targets, though.

Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham (oblique) is active for today’s game against the Ravens. We’ll see whether Green-Beckham or Nelson Agholor serves as Philly’s #2 WR, but neither is a fantasy option.

Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham (oblique) is listed as questionable for Week 15. He put in a full week of practice and should play against the Ravens on Sunday. It’s unclear whether Green-Beckham or Nelson Agholor will serve as Philly’s #2 WR, but neither is a fantasy option.

Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham (oblique) put in a full practice on Wednesday. He's on track to return for this weekend's game against the Ravens. It's unclear whether Green-Beckham or Nelson Agholor will serve as Philly's #2 WR, but neither should be in your fantasy plans.

Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham (oblique) is inactive for today’s game against the Redskins. Nelson Agholor figures to slot back in as the #2 WR but shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups.
