Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He was limited all last week before missing the Dolphins game, so Barkley's availability for Sunday night's game vs. the Bills remains uncertain. We'll update Barkley's status again tomorrow.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Dolphins. RB Matt Breida should lead the backfield again but is just a RB3 or flex play in a struggling New York offense.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Dolphins today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Barkley remained limited in practice all week and didn't sound optimistic about his status when speaking to the media. Rapoport adds that Barkley is "closer" to a return. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 6. His absence today again leaves New York's backfield to Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell. Breida has tallied 18 carries and eight targets to Brightwell's eight carries and five targets over the last two weeks. See where both guys land in the updated Week 5 RB Rankings.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. He was limited in practice all week. HC Brian Daboll said Friday that Barkley could be a game-time decision. He won't be at 100% if he plays. New York will also be without offensive linemen Andrew Thomas, Shane Lemieux, and John Michael Schmitz this weekend.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) remained limited in Thursday's practice. He told reporters afterward that his ankle "is in a better spot than it was last Thursday" but stopped short of saying that he'll play vs. the Dolphins this weekend. "Each day it gets better," Barkley said. "It's a tough injury. Just taking it one day at a time. Trying to improve each day. ... Definitely encouraged but don't want to make guarantees. Just continue trusting my body and trusting the training staff." We'll see what Barkley does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report. But fantasy owners should make sure they have a backup plan in place for Week 5. Barkley seems no better than 50/50 to play against Miami.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He was limited in all three practices last week before missing the Seahawks game, so this doesn't tell us much about his availability for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. Barkley seemingly has a shot to play in that one, but we'll keep you updated on his progress over the next few days.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is officially inactive for tonight's game vs. the Seahawks. He put in three limited practices this week and has a shot to return for Week 5. Matt Breida figures to serve as New York's lead back tonight after playing 82% of the offensive snaps last week. RBs Gary Brightwell and Eric Gray are also active.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Seahawks tonight. But Barkley is "steadily getting better" and has a "realistic chance" to return for Week 5, Rapoport adds. We'll keep tabs on Barkley's progress throughout this week, leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is doubtful for Monday night's game against the Seahawks. That means Matt Breida should again run as New York's top back. He'll get a more favorable matchup than Week 3, when a TD made his fantasy line against the 49ers. Breida still carries limited upside but is an option for needy Week 4 fantasy lineups. Check your Team Intel page to see how Breida compares with your other options.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) remained limited in Friday's practice. HC Brian Daboll said Barkley "did good" on Thursday, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan, so it sounds like that injured ankle has responded well so far. We'll see what Barkley does on Saturday and how he's listed on the final injury report for Monday night's game vs. the Seahawks.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport described Barkley's status for Monday night's game vs. the Seahawks as a "wait-and-see" situation, adding that Barkley "has a long way to go." We're still not projecting him to play this week but will continue to monitor his progress over the next few days.

Giants HC Brian Daboll labeled RB Saquon Barkley "day-to-day" with his ankle injury. "He feels a lot better today, but we’ll kinda take that all the way throughout the week and see how he improves,” Daboll said. Barkley has an extra day to get ready for New York's Monday night game vs. the Seahawks, but we'd still consider him no better than 50/50 for that one after Barkley revealed last week that he's dealing with a high-ankle sprain.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) "has a chance" to play vs. the Seahawks next Monday night, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That'd be a quick return from a high-ankle sprain, but we'll keep a close eye on Barkley's progress this coming week.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley told NFL Network's Taylor Rooks that he's dealing with a high-ankle sprain. Previous reports had it as a low-ankle sprain. Those tend to be less significant than high sprains. Barkley also told Rooks that his injury isn't as severe as it could have been but that he's not sure if he'll be ready for Week 4. High-ankle sprains usually cost guys at least 3-4 weeks, so Barkley owners should prepare to be without him beyond Week 3. We'll continue to track his rehab.

The Giants have officially ruled RB Saquon Barkley out for Thursday night's game against the 49ers. That's been expected since news broke of his Week 2 ankle sprain. Matt Breida is expected to be the first guy up in the Week 3 backfield, but that's only enough to land him in RB4 territory in our Week 3 RB rankings. Expect Gary Brightwell and rookie Eric Gray to mix in as well for a backfield that has been limited even with Barkley through two weeks.
