How Concerned Should We Be About Rome Odunze's Foot?

Bears WR Rome Odunze was hampered by a left foot injury for much of the 2025 season, ultimately missing the final five regular-season games. He returned for the playoffs and didn't have surgery this offseason. But Odunze admitted on Wednesday that the foot might never get back to where it was pre-injury. “This is my new normal,” Odunze said. “And it’s not from a standpoint that I’m always in pain, but the way my foot broke there’s callouses in there that, like, creates a different type of foot structure with those bones. Different types of things that kind of shift things around."

Ben Johnson: 'I’m Buying Luther Burden Stock'

Bears HC Ben Johnson gushed about WR Luther Burden after Thursday's OTA session. "I’m buying Luther Burden stock right now," Johnson said. "Just how he’s approached this offseason, it’s been electric."

Finally: Bills Upgrade WR Corps With D.J. Moore

The Bills and Bears have agreed to a trade to send WR D.J. Moore to Buffalo. The Bears are getting a "mid-round pick" in return, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's a much-needed boost to QB Josh Allen's weaponry -- and frees up opportunity for WRs Luther Burden and Rome Odunze and TE Colston Loveland in Chicago.

Update: The Bears are sending Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick to Buffalo for a 2026 second-rounder.

Luther Burden Will Play Week 18

Bears WR Luther Burden (quad) is not listed on the final Week 18 injury report after getting in full practices on Thursday and Friday. He's a strong fantasy start against a Lions defense that ranks 25th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs over the last five weeks.

Luther Burden & Rome Odunze Limited Wednesday

Bears WRs Luther Burden (quad) and Rome Odunze (foot) got in limited practices on Wednesday. “We’ll see how this week goes," HC Ben Johnson said of Odunze's status for Sunday's game vs. the Lions. And on Burden: “We’re hopeful that he’ll be just fine this week.” We'll keep you updated on both guys over the next few days.

        Luther Burden Has Quad Injury

Bears WR Luther Burden suffered a quad injury on the final play of Sunday night's loss to the 49ers and was eventually carted off the field. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, though, that the injury is not believed to be serious. Burden is undergoing additional testing today. We'll look for further updates on the rookie's status for Week 18 and beyond. He had a huge game in San Francisco, hauling in 8 of 9 targets for 138 yards and a score.

Rome Odunze Out, Luther Burden Will Play Week 17

Bears WR Rome Odunze (foot) remained sidelined in practice all week and is out for Sunday night’s game vs. the 49ers. WR Luther Burden (ankle) is off the final injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. The rookie should be ready for his typical role against San Francisco and is an upside WR3 in Week 17 fantasy lineups.

        D'Andre Swift Active

Bears RB D’Andre Swift (groin) is active for today’s matchup with Green Bay. Swift was added to the injury report on Wednesday (limited), although he put in another limited session on Thursday. Expect Chicago to continue leaning run, especially with Rome Odunze and Luther Burden sidelined. Swift – with 16+ touches in three straight – remains an RB2.

Rome Odunze & Luther Burden Out For Week 16

Bears WRs Rome Odunze (foot) and Luther Burden (ankle) are out for Saturday's game vs. the Packers. Neither guy practiced all week. That strips QB Caleb Williams of two of his top targets and leaves D.J. Moore and Olamide Zaccheaus as Chicago's top two WRs. TE Colston Loveland is also a candidate for more work in the passing game. We've had Odunze and Burden projected out all week, so there are no changes to the Week 16 rankings.

Rome Odunze & Luther Burden Sidelined Tuesday

Bears WRs Rome Odunze (foot) and Luther Burden (ankle) were listed as non-participants on Tuesday's injury report. The team just had a walkthrough on the short week, but it's not a good start for their chances of playing vs. the Packers on Saturday. Burden seems to have a better chance to play than Odunze, but fantasy managers shouldn't be counting on either in Week 16 lineups at this point.

Luther Burden "Day To Day" With Ankle Injury

Bears HC Ben Johnson labeled WR Luther Burden "day to day" with the ankle injury that knocked him out of the Week 15 win over the Browns. "Still something that we’re working through and talking about," Johnson added. "We’ll see how this week goes, in terms of whether we’ll have him Saturday night." It at least sounds like Burden dodged a serious injury, but consider him iffy for Saturday night's game against the Packers. With WR Rome Odunze likely to miss that one with his foot injury, Chicago could be down to WRs D.J. Moore and Olamide Zaccheaus. We'd expect TE Colston Loveland's role to expand in that case.

D.J. Moore Comes Up Big But Can We Trust Him?

One week after an abysmal 0.6-point performance, D.J. Moore took advantage of the unexpected absence of Rome Odunze to 4-of-5 targets for 69 yards and 2 TDs in Chicago's 31-3 win over the Browns. Moore's performance came after consecutive duds, during which he caught 3 balls for 13 total yards in Weeks 13-14. Those two games followed a Week 12 5/64/2 showing, highlighting Moore's erratic week-to-week consistency that have made him one of the most frustrating players of the seaosn.

        Luther Burden Hurts Left Ankle

Bears WR Luther Burden injured his left ankle in the second half of Sunday's game vs. the Browns and is questionable to return. Don't expect to see him back out there with Chicago nursing a big lead. We'll keep you updated on the rookie's status. The Bears already lost WR Rome Odunze before kickoff today after he aggravated his foot injury.

Rome Odunze Has Stress Fracture In Foot

Bears WR Rome Odunze has been playing through a stress fracture in his foot, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. It's unclear when Odunze suffered the injury. He was on the injury report with a heel as far back as Week 9, but this week is the first time he's been listed with a foot. Pelissero adds that Odunze "just needs rest and is week-to-week. The belief is it’s nothing long term and he’ll be back soon." We'll keep you updated on Odunze's health going forward, but he seems more likely than not to miss multiple games with this injury. His absence leaves behind 7.5 targets per game, boosting the fantasy outlooks on WRs Luther Burden, D.J. Moore, and Olamide Zaccheaus and TE Colston Loveland.

Rome Odunze Out For Week 14

Bears WR Rome Odunze (foot) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. We don’t have any details on this foot injury, but Odunze didn’t practice all week, so this could turn into a multi-game absence. D.J. Moore, Luther Burden, and Olamide Zaccheaus will operate as Chicago’s top three WRs against Green Bay’s 17th-ranked WR defense. TE Colston Loveland could also get more involved.

Luther Burden's Targets Rise, Playing Time Doesn't

Rookie WR Luther Burden III made a team-high 4 receptions on a modest passing day for the Bears against Philadelphia. He tied WR Rome Odunze and TE Colston Loveland for the team lead with six targets and took his 4 catches for 33 yards. Loveland and TE Cole Kmet were the only other Bears to catch more than two balls.
