The Dolphins have acquired RB Jeff Wilson from the 49ers in exchange for a 2023 5th-round pick. He’ll immediately slot in as the #2 back following today's trade of Chase Edmonds. Like Raheem Mostert, Wilson joins the squad with experience alongside HC Mike McDaniel. The new Dolphin is a poor bet for standalone fantasy value, but he carries handcuff appeal in Miami’s dynamic offense.

The Dolphins are sending RB Chase Edmonds and 2 draft picks to the Broncos for EDGE Bradley Chubb. The Broncos are getting a 2023 first-rounder that initially belonged to San Francisco, as well as a 4th-rounder in 2024. Miami will get a 5th-rounder in 2025. Chubb upgrades a Dolphins pass rush that ranks just 23rd in sacks and has dealt with some injuries. He's in the final year of his rookie deal, so we'd bet on an extension following. Edmonds played his way out of the starting backfield gig in Miami but lands in a Denver offense that presents opportunity. We'll see about the team's RB plans coming out of the Week 9 bye, though we wouldn't bet on any of the Denver backs truly taking over. Chubb's departure should mean more playing time for 2nd-round rookie EDGE Nik Bonitto, who has 1.5 sacks over his past 2 games. Myles Gaskin looks like the #2 RB in Miami now.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill put up another monster line in Week 8 against Detroit, this time slashing 12/188/0. Hill saw 14 targets — a 38.8% target share. Tua Tagovailoa again delivered some underthrown deep balls, but Hill continued to make the necessary adjustments. The former Chief is now on pace for over 2,000 receiving yards over a full season. He'll face the Bears in Week 9.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa delivered 382 yards and 3 TDs against the Lions in Week 8. After getting down 21-7 in the 1st half, he played mistake-free football. As usual, he leaned on Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, with the pair accounting for 77% of his yardage. This one always shaped up as a high-upside spot against a bad Detroit defense, and Tua capitalized with the overall QB1 performance. He’ll remain a top-12 guy for the road ahead, including Sunday at Chicago.

Bills S Jordan Poyer left in the 4th quarter of Sunday night's win over the Packers after hurting his left elbow. He said afterward that it "felt like a pop," according to the Buffalo News. Poyer also said he'll have an MRI today. We'll see about the severity. It's the same elbow Poyer hurt in training camp, costing him the entire preseason. He said this injury feels different. Jaquan Johnson stepped in after Poyer left.

The Lions have ruled S DeShon Elliott (finger), EDGE Charles Harris (groin) and CB Mike Hughes (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

The Buccaneers fear EDGE Shaq Barrett tore his left Achilles' tendon in Thursday night's loss to the Ravens. We'll watch for confirmation, but that generally follows these reports. The injury would obviously end Barrett's season. It also might challenge his readiness for the start of next year. Barrett turns 30 in November and has 2 years remaining on his contract.

Update: MRI confirmed the Achilles' tear.

Buccaneers EDGE Shaq Barrett left Thursday night's game against the Ravens with an ankle injury, rode to the locker room on a cart and was quickly ruled out. That doesn't bode well for the longer-term prognosis. We'll watch for word on a specific diagnosis and return timeline.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert handled 16 of 23 RB carries for Miami, tallying 79 yards in the Sunday night win over the Steelers. He added 4 catches for 30 yards and a TD among 5 targets, snagging the team's only score. Chase Edmonds got less than half as much playing time: 18 snaps vs. 44. He finished with 7-17 rushing and no catches on 2 targets. Edmonds is solely a handcuff for fantasy purposes, while Mostert is looking like a weekly RB2. He gets a terrific matchup with Detroit in Week 8.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa returned Sunday night for his 1st game action since the scary concussion at Cincinnati in Week 4. He completed 21 of 35 passes in the win over the Steelers for 261 yards and 1 TD. Tagovailoa took nary a sack, avoided turnovers and even ran for 15 yards on 4 rushes. WR Tyreek Hill led the offense with 13 targets and 7 catches (for 72 yards), while WR Jaylen Waddle paced the group with 88 yards (on 5 targets, 4 receptions). TE Mike Gesicki drew 7 targets for the 2nd straight game but managed just 3 catches for 27 yards. The whole group gets a high-ceiling matchup at Detroit in Week 8, with solid-to-good spots the next 2 weeks as well vs. Chicago and Cleveland.

Dolphins EDGE Emmanuel Ogbah (back) is inactive for tonight's game against the Steelers. CB Xavien Howard (groin) and DL Christian Wilkins (hand) are active.

6:51pm EDT 10/23/22

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Steelers. He was limited in practice all week, adding some risk to his fantasy profile. But Waddle is available if you were waiting on him.

Dolphins DT Christian Wilkins (hand), EDGE Emmanuel Ogbah (back) and CB Xavien Howard (groin) are questionable for Sunday night's game against the Steelers

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Steelers. That late kickoff could put fantasy owners in a tough spot. We’ll look for an update on Waddle’s status on Sunday morning.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) remained limited in Thursday's practice. We're expecting him to play vs. the Steelers on Sunday night, but we'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.

Cardinals WR Robbie Anderson is active for tonight's game vs. the Saints. He joined the team just 3 days ago. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier tonight that Anderson might play "more than you expect," but he still can't be trusted in Week 7 fantasy lineups.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury wouldn't say whether WR Robbie Anderson will play vs. the Saints on Thursday night. "If we do it, it'll be very limited and make sure he knows (his plays)," Kingsbury said. No surprise considering Anderson just joined the Cardinals on Monday. He's not a Week 7 fantasy option but is worth stashing in fantasy leagues of 12+ teams.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He banged that shoulder up late in last week's loss to the Vikings but was able to return. Waddle should be fine for Sunday night's game vs. the Steelers, but we'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is not listed on the Week 7 injury report. It's confirmation that he's cleared concussion protocol and will start Sunday night's game vs. the Steelers. Tua hasn't made it through a game healthy since Week 2 but opened the season with QB22 and QB2 finishes.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Monday that QB Tua Tagovailoa will work as the starter in practice this week and is expected to be ready for Sunday night's game against the Steelers, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Tagovailoa, of course, last played in the Thursday night loss to Cincinnati in Week 4. We'll watch his status this week, but expect the Miami QB to be a viable starting option for fantasy football lineups in Week 7.
