Stafford was listed on the injury report for the final 4 games of the year, but this is the 1st we've heard of the extent of the injury. He did struggle in those final 4 outings, averaging just 6.0 yards per attempt with 3 total TDs. But Stafford's bigger problem last season was Detroit's renewed commitment to the run, which left Stafford with a career-low 34.7 pass attempts per game. His volume might drop again in 2019 with the arrival of run-loving O Darrell Bevell. Stafford is just a lower-end QB2 in fantasy drafts.

Bevell has spent 12 seasons as an NFL OC -- 5 in Minnesota, 7 in Seattle -- and had 7 teams finish top 10 in rushing attempts and 7 finish top 10 in rushing yards. Only 3 of Bevell's units ranked inside the top half of the league in passing attempts or yards. His arrival is good news for Kerryon Johnson and troublesome for Matt Stafford, Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones.

The Lions and OC Jim Bob Cooter have agreed to "mutually" part ways, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. A favorite of the Draft Sharks podcast, Cooter's tenure in Detroit got off to a nice start. But he was at the controls of 1 of the most disappointing offenses in the league in 2018, with the Lions finishing 24th in total yards and 25 in points. With a nice core in Matt Stafford, Kerryon Johnson, Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones, this unit is capable of a big bounce back in 2019.

The Eagles have acquired WR Golden Tate from the Lions in exchange for a 3rd-round pick. Tate figures to keep his slot role in Philly, pushing Nelson Agholor to the outside. He's unlikely to match the 9.9 targets per game he's averaged in Detroit so far this season, though, with Agholor, Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz to contend with. Tate looks like more of a WR3 with big-game potential the rest of the way. His arrival is a nice boost for QB Carson Wentz. Meanwhile in Detroit, both Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay are in for big volume boosts. T.J. Jones is the favorite to step into the #3 WR role but is a long shot to be a fantasy factor.

The Lions have officially named Matt Patricia their new HC. Patricia has spent the past 14 seasons with the Patriots, starting as an offensive assistant and finishing as the DC for the last 6 years. This will be his 1st head-coaching gig at any level. Patricia is expected to retain OC Jim Bob Cooter, which is good news for QB Matt Stafford and the passing game. The Lions need to find a running game this offseason.
