Jets RB Breece Hall was doing agility work off to the side of Monday's practice, according to The New York Post's Brian Costello. "He’s moving well," Costello adds. "Good sign."

Jets RB Breece Hall will be out 2-3 weeks with his groin injury but is expected back for the start of the season, HC Aaron Glenn said Tuesday.

SNY's Connor Hughes reports that further testing confirmed Jets RB Breece Hall's groin injury is minor. Hughes added, "They’ll be cautious with him, but it’s weeks, not months."

We covered earlier this week how Jets rookie Omar Cooper Jr. might be in danger of Isaiah Williams passing him on the depth chart. Friday's preseason opener turned that into reality. Cooper played zero snaps with the starting offense, while Williams played seven of the 11 and ran five routes. That put him narrowly behind top-two WRs Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell. They each played all 11 snaps and ran seven routes.

Jets WR Omar Cooper has had a quiet start to training camp by most accounts. ESPN's Rich Cimini even suggested on Tuesday that WR Isaiah Williams could pass Cooper on the depth chart. WR coach Shawn Jefferson said Cooper has experienced "little pitfalls ... That's part of being a rookie."

Garrett Wilson is tearing up training camp as he builds rapport with Jets’ new QB Geno Smith. Connor Hughes, the NFL Reporter for SportsNet New York, claimed the pair was ‘cooking’ today, adding that Smith had zero incompletions when targeting Wilson.

Jets RB Isaiah Davis will miss "a couple of weeks" with what the team website calls a "minor" knee injury. That comes amid a competition between Davis and Braelon Allen for touches behind starter Breece Hall. And HC Aaron Glenn had some nice things to say about Allen on Thursday.

The issue had lingered since Sadiq's final college season, and HC Aaron Glenn said back in May that they expected the rookie to be ready for training camp.

Jets QB Geno Smith is under police investigation following assault allegations made by a woman on social media over the weekend. Davie (Fla.) police initially said the case was closed with no arrests but later clarified that the incident is still being reviewed before a report can be released. The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt calls WR Adonai Mitchell one of the Jets' "biggest stars" so far this offseason. Mitchell has drawn praise from other media members, as well as teammates and coaches.

The Jets opened OTAs with both Garrett Wilson and Braelon Allen participating, and both will remain full participants moving forward. Wilson was a full participant after missing 10 games last season with a persistent knee injury. Allen had knee surgery after spraining his left MCL in Week 4 and missed the rest of the season.

The Jets have worked out a three-year deal with RB Breece Hall. The pact will pay out $45.75 million over three years, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, and replaces Hall's franchise tag. The guaranteed money has not been revealed yet as of this writing.

The New York Jets selected Clemson QB Cade Klubnik in Round 4 of the 2026 NFL Draft. A five-star recruit, Klubnik started for three years at Clemson. He ended his career third in career passing yards at Clemson, but Klubnik struggled to make a major impact over his final two seasons. In 2025, Klubnik finished with 2,943 yards with 16 TDs and 6 INTs. His lack of arm strength in an RPO-style offense limited Klubnik’s production and consistency. Among the 15 QBs invited to the NFL Combine, Klubnik ranked seventh in 2025 adjusted completion percentage (77.6%), and ninth in aDOT (8.4). He ranked 10th in 2025 Big Time Throw rate (3.8%) and 11th in rushing yards per game when removing sacks (28.1). He is currently 22 years old.

The New York Jets selected Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. with the 30th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. A four-star recruit, Cooper turned potential into production in 2024. He caught 28 passes for 594 yards and 7 TDs while leading the Big Ten in yards per reception at 21.2. Cooper led the 2025 Hoosiers with 69 receptions, 937 yards, and 13 TDs alongside breakout QB Fernando Mendoza. He shifted into the slot after spending the previous two seasons primarily outside, leading to a lower average depth of target (9.7 yards vs. 16.0 and 15.1). Cooper excelled after the catch, forcing a missed tackle on nearly 40% of his receptions.

The New York Jets selected Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq with the 16th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft. Sadiq’s production profile is not as impressive as recent first-round TEs Brock Bowers, Tyler Warren, or Colston Loveland. He caught just five balls as a freshman and was out-produced by TE Terrance Ferguson as a sophomore in 2024. Sadiq set career highs across the board this past season, leading Oregon with 51 catches and 8 TDs and finishing second to WR Malik Benson with 560 yards. But his 1.62 yards per route ranked just 10th among 27 of the top TEs in this year’s class. For perspective, Bowers, Warren and Loveland all topped 2.6 yards per route in their final college seasons. On the plus side, Sadiq just turned 21 in March and lit up the Combine. He clocked a 4.39-second 40 time with a 43.5-inch vertical to earn a 9.52 Relative Athletic Score. Sadiq is a bit undersized at 6’3, 241 pounds but holds up well as a blocker. He should be able to stay on the field for all three downs. And he’s a three-level threat as a receiver, possessing plus route running and after-catch skills. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler calls Sadiq a “Vernon Davis-like weapon.”

The Jets snagged Texas Tech Edge David Bailey with the second pick of the draft. Bailey racked up 14.5 sacks -- tying for the FBS lead -- and a Big 12-high 19.5 tackles for loss in his lone season after transferring to Texas Tech. He spent three previous seasons at Stanford posting more modest production.
