The Cowboys have placed the franchise tag on WR George Pickens. He and the Cowboys still have until July 15 to agree to a long-term deal. If they don't, Pickens would be set to make $27.3 million in 2026. Dallas hasn't seemed overly aggressive in locking up Pickens for the long haul -- and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier this month that a tag-and-trade is a possibility. We'll continue to keep tabs on the situation. Our best guess is that Pickens plays out this season on the tag for the Cowboys.

Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq stole headlines at the Combine on Friday with his 4.39-second 40-yard dash. But Vanderbilt's Eli Stowers actually edged Sadiq 9.46 to 9.43 in Relative Athletic Score. Stowers checked in at 6'4 and 239 pounds -- about a half inch taller and two pounds lighter than Sadiq. He ran a very strong 4.51-second 40-yard dash and crushed the jumping drills with a 45.5-inch vertical and 11'3 broad jump. The testing lands Stowers in the 94th percentile among all TEs since 1987. It adds to an exciting profile that already included a strong receiving skill set. Stowers racked up 111 catches for 1,407 yards over the past two seasons. The big question is whether he can hold up enough as a blocker to earn a full-time role as a pro. He's riskier than Sadiq as a dynasty target, but Stowers arguably has just as much upside.

Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq put on a show at the Combine, clocking a 4.39-second 40-yard dash with a 1.54-second 10-yard split. He added a 43.5-inch vertical and an 11'1 broad jump. As NFL Research noted, Sadiq:

• Is faster than Odell Beckham (4.43-second 40 time)
• Quicker than DeSean Jackson (1.55-second 10-yard split)
• And more explosive than Julio Jones (38.5-inch vertical) and Andre Johnson (11'0 broad)

Sadiq is undersized for his position, checking into the Combine at 6'3, 241 pounds. But the testing numbers still earned him a 9.43 Relative Athletic Score, which ranks 78th out of 1,356 TEs since 1987. Sadiq was already a lock to be the first TE off the board in the NFL draft and dynasty drafts. His confirmed athleticism only pushes him further up the board. Colts QB Anthony Richardson has been given permission to seek a trade, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN. Richardson threw only two passes in 2025 as the backup to Daniel Jones. He suffered an orbital fracture during pregame warmups before the Colts' Week 6 game and underwent surgery in October.

It took an injury to RB J.K. Dobbins for RB R.J. Harvey to earn a full-time role for the Broncos last year. Harvey was just-OK from an efficiency standpoint after taking over as the clear lead back. But GM George Paton said from the Combine that the team does view Harvey as a three-down back going forward.

The Jets are trading Edge Jermaine Johnson to the Titans for DT T'Vondre Sweat, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The swap will officially process once the new league year begins at 4 p.m. on March 11. Johnson arrived as a first-round pick in 2022 and heads into the final year of his rookie contract (the exercised club option). Tennessee drafted Sweat in the second round in 2024. Two years remain on his initial contract. New Titans HC Robert Saleh served in that role for the Jets when they drafted Johnson (and then until New York fired him in the first half of 2024).

Browns RB Quinshon Judkins has a good chance to be ready for the start of training camp, GM Andrew Berry said from the Combine on Tuesday. Judkins is working back from a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle suffered on December 21. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said the following day that Judkins was expected to be back on the field in April or May. It sounds like he's on track. "He’s made really nice progress," Berry said. "He’s out of the boot. He’s started his pool running. He’s done a real nice job with his recovery."

Bills HC Joe Brady talked up a bigger and more diverse role for WR Khalil Shakir. "I think Khalil Shakir can play inside and outside," Brady said from the Combine. "There’s really not a lot of things that Khalil can’t do. There’s definitely ways to get the ball into his hands in different ways, and we have to continue to grow his game because he’s such a huge component to our offense. He’s one of our best football players, and when the ball is in his hand, good things are happening."

Jets GM Darren Mougey made it clear from the Combine on Tuesday that impending free-agent RB Breece Hall isn't leaving town. The team is prepared to use the franchise or transition tag if it doesn't reach a long-term agreement with Hall ahead of the March 3 deadline. Either tag would keep Hall with the Jets for the 2026 season.

Bills GM Brandon Beane said a key offseason priority is finding a way to keep TE Dalton Kincaid healthy. Kincaid has dealt with multiple knee injuries, plus hamstring and oblique issues, over the past two seasons. "Our number one thing with Dalton is to see if we can get him in a healthier fashion this year, so that we don't have to A: miss games, and then B: limit how much he's playing," Beane said.

The Falcons have told QB Kirk Cousins that they'll release him at the beginning of the 2026 league year, according to Josh Kendall of The Athletic.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that TE Zach Ertz plans to play this season. That's notable, of course, because Ertz tore his right ACL in December, about a month after he turned 35. Pelissero adds that the TE is "expected to be cleared right around Week 1." Ertz will hit unrestricted free agency in March.

The Falcons plan to use the franchise tag on TE Kyle Pitts, according to multiple reports. Pitts would be set to hit free agency for the first time without the tag. Instead, he'll get a one-year deal that's expected to be worth a little more than $16 million.

ESPN's Michael DiRocco writes that the Jaguars and WR Brian Thomas Jr. expect the third-year wideout to rebound from a rough second season. Thomas navigated early-season struggles, a new offense, a mid-year high-ankle sprain, and a late-season role shift while delivering numbers well short of his standout rookie campaign.

The Cowboys have agreed to a three-year deal with RB Javonte Williams. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that it'll pay out $24 million in total, with $16 million of that guaranteed. That contract total ties D'Andre Swift for 13th at the position in total money, according to Spotrac. The average annual value ($8 million) ties for 16th, also with Swift. Williams' first season in Dallas found him ranking 10th in the league in total carries (ninth in carries per game), ninth in rushing yards, eighth in rushing TDs, and 10th in PPR points per game.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid delivered an encouraging update on Travis Kelce’s status. According to ESPN’s Nate Taylor, Reid said there is active communication between Kelce and the team. “As long as there’s communication, I’m good," Reid said. "That means people want to move forward. I think that’s where Travis is.”

New Seahawks OC Brian Fleury was asked about his offense on Wednesday and said it'll look “very similar to the one that just won the Super Bowl.” Fleury worked with former Seahawks OC and new Raiders HC Klint Kubiak for one year in San Francisco under HC Kyle Shanahan. "Both of us were more influenced by Kyle than anything else," Fleury said of his relationship with Kubiak. "Klint's a good friend and a great football coach. Right away we bonded over similar views of football. How we see the game, what we think is important."

49ers TE George Kittle revealed recently that the location of his Achilles injury could have him back on the field sooner than expected. He had a clean tear higher up on the Achilles. "They didn't have to drill into my heel," Kittle explained. "And where the repair was is where there's more blood flow. And so, it takes some time off the recovery time."

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice is facing civil assault charges in Texas. Rice's ex-girlfriend, Dacoda Jones, alleges that he assaulted her over an 18-month span from 2023 to 2025 and is seeking over $1 million in damages. Rice, through his attorney, has denied the allegations. "On October 9th, 2025, well after the parties' relationship had ended, Ms. Jones stated under penalty of perjury in a sworn Affidavit for Non-Prosecution that 'Mr. Rice and I had a verbal argument, but he did not punch me,'" Rice's attorney said in a statement.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving underwent offseason shoulder surgery, according to multiple reports. We don't have any other details on the procedure, but JoeBucsFan.com reports that rehab is not expected to "significantly impact" Irving's offseason. Pewter Report hears that he should be ready to get back on the field by May.
