Patrick Mahomes Scheduled For Imaging On Elbow
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes suffered what looked like a serious right elbow injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Jets. His arm was hit by EDGE David Bailey right as he was trying to get off a deep ball. Mahomes was in obvious pain as he made his way off the field. He returned for Kansas City’s next possession, though, and finished out the game, going 14 of 18 for 141 yards after the injury. Mahomes said after the game that he’s still scheduled for imaging on the elbow. “I felt like out of half, I wasn’t throwing the ball the way I wanted to,” Mahomes said. “But as the game went on, and we kind of continued to work through it, and kind of got warmed back up, I thought I kind of started throwing the ball better towards the end of the second half. And so that’ll be important this week, is kind of getting that the swelling and the fluid out of it, so I can be ready to go from the first snap next week.” We’ll keep a close eye on Mahomes this coming week.
