The Chiefs re-signed WR Demarcus Robinson to a 1-year deal. Despite playing with QB Patrick Mahomes, Robinson hasn't reached 500 yards in any of the last 3 seasons. There's a chance he sees a bigger target share in 2021 if Kansas City doesn't bring back WR Sammy Watkins, but we still wouldn't expect Robinson to emerge as a reliable fantasy option without an injury to WR Tyreek Hill or TE Travis Kelce
Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) is out for Thursday night's game against the Broncos. He returned to limited practices this week, so a return for next Sunday night's game vs. the Packers seems realistic. With Watkins out last week, the pass routes run for Kansas City's WRs went like this: Demarcus Robinson 37, Byron Pringle 29, Mecole Hardman 25, Tyreek Hill 22. Hill should be closer to a full-go in his 2nd game back from that clavicle injury. His increased playing time figures to come at the expense of Pringle and/or Hardman.
Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (clavicle) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with the Texans. He practiced all week, but it sounds like he's still awaiting final medical clearance. The good news is that we'll get Hill's official status by noon ET on Sunday. If he's active, he'll return to must-start status. The nature of his injury means he should be a full-go once he's cleared. If Hill is out, Kansas City will roll with WRs Demarcus Robinson, Byron Pringle and Mecole Hardman.
Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with his collarbone injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That timetable would have him back as early as Week 6 or as late as Week 8. Kansas City's bye isn't until Week 12. We'd hang on to Hill in all fantasy leagues. He should return to WR1 status as soon as he's back on the field. WR Sammy Watkins and TE Travis Kelce will get target boosts with Hill out. We like rookie Mecole Hardman to be the 2nd most productive Chiefs WR, with Demarcus Robinson as the #3.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the Chiefs are still evaluating WR Tyreek Hill's injury, with "options ranging from missing a few games to IR/designated to return." The latter move would knock Hill out until at least Week 10. We'll stay on top of the situation, but Chiefs WRs Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson are both worth adding off waiver wires this week.
Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill does not need surgery on his injured shoulder but is expected to miss "a few weeks," ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Chiefs head trainer Rick Burkholder revealed that Hill is dealing with a sternal clavicular joint injury. It sounds like fantasy owners should prepare to be without him until at least Week 5. Hill's absence elevates WR Sammy Watkins to the top of the Chiefs' depth chart. Demarcus Robinson and rookie Mecole Hardman are next in line and are worth speculative adds in deeper fantasy leagues.
Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins was knocked out of Monday night's game against the Broncos with a hamstring injury. He reportedly tested the hamstring after exiting but told the trainers that he couldn't get back out there. Watkins' absence leaves Kansas City with Chris Conley, Demarcus Robinson and De'Anthony Thomas behind Tyreek Hill.
