Patterson barely plays in Week 13 | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson didn't play a single offensive snap in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Panthers.  He played a few in the 2nd but finished catch-less on 1 target.  Patterson missed some practice time this week to attend a family member's funeral.  He's also dealing with minor knee and foot injuries.  But his lack of production is the biggest reason for his dwindling playing time.  "He continues to deal with things," is all HC Mike Zimmer would offer.  Patterson obviously isn't a fantasy option for the rest of 2014 and has a long ways to go if he wants to break out next season.

Recent Shark Bites

The Bears have signed WR Cordarrelle Patterson to a 2-year, $10 million deal. The former 1st-rounder has yet to reach 500 receiving yards as a pro but totaled 475 yards with the Patriots last year (247 receiving, 228 rushing). HC Matt Nagy figures to have some fun with C-Patt as a gadget player, but his biggest impact will remain on special teams. Patterson is unlikely to be a reliable fantasy play in Chicago.

Patriots WR Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Jets. New England is down to Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan and Phillip Dorsett at WR.

Patriots WR Cordarrelle Patterson has drawn raves from multiple beat writers early in training camp. Mass Live's Andrew Callahan wrote Thursday that it's been "The Cordarrelle Patterson Show" so far. "He's made contested catches at every level of the field and carried the ball with the first-team offense," Callahan adds. The Patriots' WR corps is wide open behind Chris Hogan and Julian Edelman, who's suspended for the first 4 games of the season. Patterson hasn't clicked as a WR through 5 NFL seasons but still has theoretical upside thanks to his supreme athleticism. We'll be keeping a close eye on him this preseason.

The Patriots on Sunday traded a 5th-round pick to the Raiders for WR Cordarrelle Patterson and a 6th-rounder. This looks like a special-teams move. New England already retained WR Kenny Britt as part of a crowded WR corps, and Patterson has achieved little as a wideout with the Vikings and Raiders. Don't expect him to become a fantasy factor in 2018.

The Raiders have signed WR Cordarrelle Patterson to a 2-year deal. A mega-bust former 1st-rounder, Patterson failed to reach 500 yards or 5 TDs in any of his 4 seasons in Minnesota. He actually set a career high with 52 catches this past year, but they amounted to just 453 yards (8.7 YPC) and 2 TDs. Now he joins a Raiders squad that saw WRs Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree hog 46.5% of the targets last season. Patterson will battle for the #3 WR gig with Seth Robert, who garnered just 12.9% of the targets (77 total) in 2016. Patterson is unlikely to come into fantasy value in Oakland, outside of return-yardage leagues.
