The Broncos have fired OC Mike McCoy. Someone had to take the fall with Denver sitting 24th in points per game. Of course, the QB play has been a much bigger issue than the play-calling. McCoy will be replaced by QB coach Bill Musgrave. He helped the Raiders to top-7 finishes in yards and points last year -- but he obviously had much more talent at his disposal. Don't expect a significant turnaround for this Denver offense.

Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas was activated from the PUP list on Tuesday. He's spent the offseason rehabbing last December's torn Achilles. The 31-year-old looked like a player in decline even before that injury, so we're not betting on him making much of an impact in 2019. Of course, Josh Gordon's return did nothing to help Thomas' chances.

The Patriots are placing WR Demaryius Thomas on the active/PUP list to begin training camp. That means he won't take part in on-field drills initially. It's no surprise, given that Thomas suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in Week 16. We'll be curious to see how soon Thomas can make his way into camp workouts and whether he can avoid the regular-season PUP list. Landing on that would mean missing at least 6 games.

The Patriots have signed WR Demaryius Thomas to a 1-year deal that could be worth "up to" $6 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Thomas is currently rehabbing a torn Achilles suffered in late December that has his availability for the start of the 2019 campaign in doubt. He seemed to be in decline even before that injury, posting his fewest yards per game (45.1) since his rookie season. That said, this is just about the best landing spot Thomas could have hoped for. The Patriots have lost over 220 targets from last year and have just Phillip Dorsett, Bruce Ellington and Maurice Harris sitting behind Julian Edelman on the WR depth chart. If Thomas can get healthy, he has a good shot of emerging as the #2 WR.

WR Demaryius Thomas is currently in custody in Colorado on vehicular assault charges. Pro Football Talk notes that Colorado defines vehicular assault as "driving recklessly or under the influence of alcohol and causing serious bodily injury to another person." Thomas was involved in a 1-car accident on February 18 that reportedly caused serious injury to a female passenger. We'll see where this goes. Thomas was released by Houston a couple of weeks ago after his 2018 campaign ended with a torn Achilles.

The Texans have released WR Demaryius Thomas. It was a no-brainer move with Thomas set to make $14 million in 2019. Now 31 and coming off a torn Achilles, DT isn't worth nearly that much coin. He'll probably need to prove he's recovered from that injury before landing a job elsewhere. Houston has a young, talented WR trio in place in DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller and Keke Coutee.
