Steelers WR Antonio Brown's chiropractor revealed on Instagram Monday that Brown is dealing with a hip flexor issue. It was previously reported as a quad injury. Brown has been sidelined for about a week now and won't play in Pittsburgh's preseason opener -- but he did re-join the team on Tuesday after being in Pittsburgh to have that injury re-evaluated. We're still not worried about Brown at this point but would like to see him back on the field by next week.
Free agent WR Antonio Brown said he won’t play in the upcoming season. “Obviously, we live the game, but you can’t play forever,” Brown said. “I think I’m a great player that’s done everything in the game.” There’s always a chance he changes his mind. But given his character concerns and a likely lack of suitors, AB’s safe to avoid in summer drafts.
In a lengthy statement released on Tuesday night, WR Antonio Brown revealed that he'll undergo surgery for the ankle injury he originally suffered in Week 6 and played through the past 2 weeks. “It shows broken bone fragments stuck in my ankle, the ligament torn from the bone, and cartilage loss, which are beyond painful," Brown said of the latest MRI on his ankle. "You can see the bone bulging from the outside.” Brown also claims he pulled himself from the Jets game, the Bucs' coaches told him to go back in and then told him he was done with the team when he refused. Brown added that he's expected to make a full recovery from the ankle injury and is "looking forward to next season." We'll see if another team takes a shot on him.
Bucs HC Bruce Arians said after Sunday's win over the Jets that WR Antonio Brown's time with the Bucs is over. That's not a surprise after Brown removed his jersey and left the field in the middle of the 3rd quarter. But it's still a massive loss for a Bucs offense that is also without WR Chris Godwin for the rest of the season. That leaves Breshad Perriman, Cyril Grayson and Tyler Johnson as the top WRs behind Mike Evans. Evans and TE Rob Gronkowski should be the focal points of the passing game in Week 18 and the playoffs.
Bucs WR Antonio Brown took off his jersey and shirt, threw a peace sign to Jets fans and left the field in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Jets. One of the most bizarre things we've seen on a football field. We'll let you know when we find out exactly what happened here, but Brown's day is obviously over with 3 catches for 26 yards.
Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Jets. He tweaked his ankle on Wednesday and didn’t practice on Thursday or Friday. But Brown reportedly felt good enough in a Saturday workout to give it a go today. He’s a risk/reward fantasy play at less than 100% in an excellent matchup.
