Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (knee) is expected to make his 2020 debut against Washington on Sunday, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. It'll be Penny's 1st action since tearing his ACL a little over a year ago. He shouldn't significantly impact RB Chris Carson's volume in this one, but we'll monitor the situation.

Recent Shark Bites

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Rams. That can only be good news for Chris Carson, after Penny got a near-even work split in Week 17. Look for Carson to re-emerge as the clear backfield leader in today's game. RB DeeJay Dallas is a healthy scratch as well, leaving only Carson and Carlos Hyde in the backfield.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny has been added to the injury report as questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Rams with a knee issue. He, of course, just returned a few weeks ago from his December 2019 torn ACL. Penny's absence this weekend would leave Seattle with RBs Chris Carson, Carlos Hyde and DeeJay Dallas -- with Alex Collins potentially being elevated from the practice squad.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Monday that RB Rashaad Penny will practice this week as though he's going to play Sunday at Washington, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. "We’ll see how that works out and we’ll figure it out at the end of the week," Carroll said, "but he’s going with the mentality that he’s up and eligible." Penny certainly won't be a fantasy option for Week 15 in his 1st game since last December's ACL tear. But his return could affect the playing time of other Seattle RBs.

Stop us if you've heard this before, but Seahawks HC Pete Carroll is optimistic for RB Rashaad Penny's return from his ACL repair. "I would think he's ahead of schedule for maybe what they could have predicted, maybe the middle of the season," Carroll said Friday on 710 AM ESPN Radio. "I think he's going to push for sooner than that. He's had a great offseason under these circumstances, and he looks really good right now. So hopefully we can expect him to be available maybe not in the next couple of weeks, but not too far off." Penny would be a nice stash -- especially if you have an IR spot available -- within the next few weeks.

The Seahawks placed RB Rashaad Penny (knee) on the reserve/PUP list. That means he's out for at least the first 6 games of the season. This was expected after Penny tore his ACL last December. Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde will open the season as Seattle's top 2 RBs.
