Vikings Hate J.J. McCarthy So Much That They Sacrifice Him to Matt Nagy
The Vikings are trading QB J.J. McCarthy to the Giants for a fifth-round pick in the 2027 draft, according to multiple reports.

Panthers WR Jalen Coker suffered a "minor" quad strain in Sunday's loss to the Browns, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He's considered questionable for this week, but good news overall for the promising young WR," Rapoport adds. We'll keep you updated on Coker's status throughout the week. Carolina hosts the Lions on Sunday night, which could put fantasy managers in a tricky spot if Coker ends up as a game-time decision.
Seahawks rookie RB Jadarian Price endured a brutal Week 3. Despite opening the game at Washington in the starting lineup, Price finished third among Seahawks RBs in playing time while collecting just 15 yards on 5 carries and 7 yards on his lone catch. Emanuel Wilson took a team-high 9 carries for just 14 yards (1.6 per rush), while George Holani posted a 3-10 rushing line and led the backfield in targets (5), receptions (5), and receiving yards (48).
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls a 2-4 week absence the "best-case scenario" for Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield. He dislocated his right thumb in Sunday's loss to the Vikings and is scheduled for additional testing today. Rapoport adds that Mayfield could be out longer depending on the damage to the ligaments in his thumb. We should learn more about his status today, but it looks like it'll be Jalon Daniels under center for at least the next couple of weeks. The undrafted rookie can run, amassing over 1,400 rushing yards across 6 college seasons, but has a long way to go as a passer. He completed just 61.5% of his college passes at 7.8 yards per attempt. Expect a run-heavy attack from the Bucs with Daniels under center, making all the team's pass catchers shaky fantasy bets.
The Dolphins have lost RB De'Von Achane for the season after he tore his left ACL in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Ollie Gordon stepped in to play 61 snaps against Kansas City after Achane lasted just four snaps. RB Jaylen Wright was inactive with a pair of injuries.
Sunday's numbers might try to tell you that Chargers QB Justin Herbert rebounded for a wretched outing in the Week 2 loss to the Raiders for an OK performance at Buffalo. But those numbers are trying to lie to you.
The Commanders are signing RB Austin Ekeler to their 53-man roster, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Ekeler spent the past 2 seasons in Washington, although his 2025 ended in Week 2 with a torn right Achilles. He's evidently been medically cleared, but it's tough to believe he has much juice left coming off that injury at 31 years old. Ekeler is also a strange fit with this version of the Commanders, who already have a pass-catching back in Rachaad White. We'll see exactly how Ekeler fits in, but we wouldn't both adding him to fantasy rosters right now.
Fantasy managers can be happy about Seahawks QB Sam Darnold's return Sunday from the glute injury that knocked him out in the first quarter of Week 1. Darnold went 31-of-45 passing in the loss at Washington for 379 yards and 4 TDs. That set personal highs in completions, attempts, and yards since his 2025 arrival in Seattle, and it's the third time Darnold has tossed 4 TDs for the Seahawks. But he also threw a pair of bad INTs. The first came in the third quarter, when Darnold threw too low over the middle and bounced his pass off the helmet of Washington DL Tim Settle and into the arms of LB Sonny Styles. Then Darnold hit fill-in LB Kain Medrano late in the fourth quarter with a short-range INT that became a 50-yard pick-6. (Darnold even reportedly said afterward that he saw Medrano before attempting the throw.) That put Washington up by 9 and led to basically a garbage-time ensuing Seahawks drive. Darnold padded his stats with 68 yards there, including a 7-yard TD to Cooper Kupp.
Commanders QB Marcus Mariota tossed 3 TD passes in Sunday's win over the Seahawks to drive a fantasy score that sits among the top 12 QBs for the week heading into Monday night's game. Mariota completed a decent 61.2% of his passes (19 of 31), matching his completion rate from last season, when he started eight games for Washington. His 183 yards broke down to a modest 5.9 per pass attempt, but Mariota didn't turn the ball over, took just 2 sacks, and benefited from three Seattle turnovers. His TD throws found Terry McLaurin from 30 yards out, Treylon Burks from 11 yards, and Rachaad White from 6.
Nix completed 17 of 34 pass attempts for 186 yards and 2 TDs with an INT in the Broncos’ primetime win. He also added 7 yards and a TD on the ground on four attempts. The Broncos QB was held under 200 passing yards for the second time this season, but three total TDs powered him to his first QB1 finish of the season.
For the second consecutive week the Rams were without their top WR Puka Nacua, and for the second consecutive week, pending Monday Night Football, Adams finished as a WR1. He followed up his 39.5 PPR point Week 2 performance with a 20.7 PPR point performance in Week 3. The veteran WR hauled in seven of his team-high 13 targets for 137 yards.
Purdy completed 15 of his 27 pass attempts for 297 yards and 4 TDs without throwing an INT in the 49ers win over the Cardinals. He also added 34 rushing yards on 2 carries on his way to a QB1 overall ranked Week 3 pending Sunday- and Monday Night Football.
Saints QB Tyler Shough was one of the top fantasy QBs of the week completing 29 of 42 passes for 250 yards and 4 TDs with 1 INT. Shough also had a 36-yard rush. Shough finished as QB6 and QB8 in his first two weeks and will be a top fantasy QB again in Week 3. He looks locked in as a QB1 going forward with the Saints fast pace of play under HC Kellen Moore.
Raiders TE Brock Bowers excelled in his season debut against the Saints after missing the first two weeks following a meniscus trim. He returned after carrying a questionable status into the week, but he was no decoy. Browser caught 10 of 12 targets for 116 yards and a TD as one of the top fantasy TEs of the week.
Colts WR Keenan Allen led the WRs in fantasy scoring, catching 6 of 9 targets for 63 yards and a TD. Passing volume also rose for WR Josh Downs and TE Tyler Warren. Downs caught 5 of 10 targets for 77 yards, while Warren caught 9 of 10 targets for 55 yards. With WR Alec Pierce on IR, it appears the Colts will focus on their top three weapons in the passing game going forward.
Texans RB David Montgomery put up his second straight poor fantasy performance. He ran the ball 11 times for 33 yards, catching two passes for 15 yards against the Colts. That comes off the heels of an eight-touch, 24-yard performance in Week 2. After scoring 3 TDs in Week 1, Montgomery has disappointed fantasy managers.
Steelers RB Jaylen Warren had a full-time role with Rico Dowdle sidelined with a toe injury. Warren handled 56 snaps with the other two active RBs (Travis Homer and Lew Nichols) playing a combined 6 snaps. That led to Warren handling 90.6% of RB touches. Warren had 20 touches going for 176 yards.
For the first time this season, McCaffrey was responsible for over half of the 49ers’ rush attempts. He finished Sunday’s win over the Cardinals with 15 carries for 75 yards and a TD along with 4 receptions on five targets for another 41 yards. The 49ers RB has now finished as an RB1 with at least 20 PPR points in back-to-back weeks.
Kittle posts his highest scoring week since returning from his achilles injury. He finished Sunday’s win over the Cardinals with a team-high 7 targets, on his way to a six reception, 82-yard, and 2 TD performance. Kittle ranks as the TE2 in Week 3 pending Sunday- and Monday Night Football.
Wilson finished the Cardinals’ Week 3 loss with a team-high 17 targets. He hauled in 11 of his 17 targets for 89 yards and a TD. The Cardinals WR ranks as a WR1 for the first time this season pending Sunday- and Monday Night Football.
