Emeka Egbuka Will Play Week 1

Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka (toe) put in a full week of practice and is off the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. He missed most of August with a sprained toe, but it looks like he’ll be ready for a full workload in the opener. Egbuka checks in 24th in the Week 1 WR rankings.

Malik Davis Hurts Hip In Practice

Cowboys RB Malik Davis had to be carted off the practice field on Friday with a hip injury, according to The Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Nick Harris. We'll look for more details on his status, but Davis figures to at least miss Sunday night's game vs. the Giants, and potentially much longer. He was slated to serve as the Cowboys' No. 2 RB and handcuff to Javonte Williams. Davis' absence leaves RB Emari Demercado behind Williams. RB Israel Abanikanda is on the practice squad.

Rome Odunze Questionable, Expects To Play Week 1

Bears WR Rome Odunze (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. He was limited in practice all week but told the media on Friday that he plans on playing. We’ll get Chicago’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. Odunze will be a risk/reward WR3 if he suits up.

Alvin Kamara "Ready To Go" For Week 1

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (knee) is "ready to go" for this weekend's opener vs. the Lions, HC Kellen Moore said Friday. Kamara is listed as questionable but was a full participant in Friday's practice. He shouldn't be in Week 1 fantasy lineups, but his availability does put a small dent in RB Travis Etienne's projection.

Christian McCaffrey Played Through Cramps. A Bigger Week 2 Workload Should Follow

Christian McCaffrey missed a fair amount of training camp practices with tightness issues, but he was still able to play in the 49ers' opening-week game in Australia. He handled 10 carries for 68 rushing yards while adding 5 catches on 8 targets for another 20 yards. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that McCaffrey was dealing with cramps during the game, and made it through fine, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.

Tua Tagovailoa Out, Cooper Rush In For Opener

Falcons QB Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out for this weekend's game vs. the Steelers after suffering an oblique injury in Thursday's practice. We'll see how much longer he'll be sidelined, and when QB Michael Penix is ready to play after last year's ACL tear. But it'll be QB Cooper Rush under center for Atlanta in Pittsburgh. The 32-year-old owns a career 61.1% completion rate and 6.3 yards-per-attempt average. Rush is likely a downgrade even from the current version of Tagovailoa. WR Drake London and TE Kyle Pitts take a hit in the Week 1 rankings, although both guys are fine to keep in lineups as volume-based plays. The Steelers DST is an elite Week 1 play.

Update: HC Kevin Stefanski labeled Tagovailoa "week to week" on Friday, suggesting that he might be out beyond Week 1.

Jonathon Brooks Ready For Week 1

Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks (groin) is not listed on the final Week 1 injury report. He was limited in the first two practices of the week with groin soreness but put in a full workout on Friday. Brooks will play vs. the Bears this weekend, although we’re projecting Chuba Hubbard to lead the backfield.

Jalen McMillan Doubtful For Week 1

Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's opener vs. the Bengals, HC Todd Bowles said. McMillan dealt with knee trouble for much of August but didn't suffer a setback, Bowles said. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 2, but McMillan's absence this weekend gives rookie WR Ted Hurst a chance to build momentum. He shouldn't be in Week 1 fantasy lineups but might be worth stashing now in deeper leagues.

        De'Zhaun Stribling Has Ankle Injury

49ers WR De'Zhaun Stribling suffered an ankle injury in Thursday night's win over the Rams, HC Kyle Shanahan said afterward. It's good news that Stribling was carted to the locker room with what looked like a potential Achilles injury. That would have ended Stribling's season. It now sounds like we'll see him again this year, although exactly when is unclear. Shanahan said he's not sure yet of the severity of Stribling's ankle injury. We should learn more over the next few days. The rookie was notably leading WRs in snaps before exiting in the second quarter.

George Kittle Returns From Achilles, But TE1 Road Still Looks Steep

George Kittle returning to play nearly nine months to the day after tearing his achilles is a remarkable accomplishment. In the 49ers 27-7 victory over the Rams on Thursday, Kittle caught two of his 5 targets for 12 yards, totaling 3.2 PPR points. Kittle's return to high-end production is a separate uphill battle that's still in progress.

Even in a 25-Pass Attempt Rams Offense, Puka Nacua Still Produced

In what was the lowest-scoring game for a Matthew Stafford-led Rams’ offense, Puka Nacua still produced 12.4 PPR. He finished opening week in Australia catching five of 9 targets for 74 yards, that included a 41 yard reception at the end of the first quarter. Nacua’s 74 receiving yards led all WRs in yesterday’s game.

Rams score a Stafford-era low 7 points, but fantasy managers shouldn't overreact

The Rams' 27-7 loss to the 49ers produced their fewest points in any game with Matthew Stafford at QB. Stafford's Australia morning ended with 15 completions on 25 attempts for 155 yards, an interception, and just 4.1 fantasy points. It’s the fewest points that Stafford has scored in a week since he played for the Lions and left a game early due to an ankle injury.

        De'Zhaun Stribling Hurts Left Leg

49ers WR De'Zhaun Stribling suffered a non-contact left leg injury in the second quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Rams. He put no weight on the leg as he was helped off the field by a couple of trainers and went straight into the medical tent. We'll update the rookie's status when we know more.

Update: Stribling was carted to the locker room and has been ruled out.

Packers To Go With Committee Backfield

Packers OC Adam Stenavich said earlier this week that the team plans to use a committee backfield "for a little while." RB Josh Jacobs' absence leaves MarShawn Lloyd, who played 10 total snaps over the last two seasons, as the lead back. RBs Chris Brooks and Kaleb Johnson are also on the active roster, with RB Pierre Strong on the practice squad.
