Browns HC Hue Jackson announced Monday that QB Josh McCown will start this weekend's game against the Giants. QB Cody Kessler will be held out after suffering his 2nd concussion of the year yesterday. QB Robert Griffin, meanwhile, isn't ready to return quite yet from his shoulder injury. McCown has struggled in relief duty the past 2 weeks but did toss a pair of TDs in his 2 starts earlier this season. He's on the radar in 2-QB leagues for Week 12.
Jets QB Josh McCown is expected to start today's game against the Titans, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. QB Sam Darnold (foot) returned to limited practices this week, but "the Jets are committed to making sure Darnold is 100% when he returns to the field," per Rapoport. McCown played OK against the Patriots last week but remains just a low-end QB2 in fantasy lineups.
The Jets on Tuesday agreed to a 1-year, $10 million deal to keep QB Josh McCown as their starter, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. On the same day, though, the team also reached a 1-year deal with QB Teddy Bridgewater. Although McCown's getting starter money, it's a good situation for Bridgewater to get a starting shot at some point. Through 15 seasons, McCown has never played a full 16 games. His 13 starts in 2017 matched his career high and marked just the 3rd time he has reached 10 starts. We'll be interested to see what Bridgewater has when/if he hits the field. But this is not too intriguing a fantasy situation.
Jets QB Josh McCown needs surgery on his broken left hand and is done for the season, HC Todd Bowles announced Monday. It ends a surprisingly effective campaign for McCown. He completed a career-high 67.3% of his passes and tossed 18 TDs to 9 INTs. His football future is uncertain, though, as a 38-year-old set to hit free agency. The Jets are a good bet to take a QB in the 1st round of this spring's draft.
Jets QB Josh McCown broke his left hand in Sunday's loss to the Broncos, HC Todd Bowles said afterward. The team doesn't yet know if McCown's season is over, Bowles added. The fact that it's his non-throwing hand helps, but we'd be surprised if the 38-year-old played through this for the 5-8 Jets. Next up on the depth chart is QB Bryce Petty, who went 2-of-9 for 14 yards in relief of McCown today. QB Christian Hackenberg is also still kicking around in New York.
Jets QB Josh McCown injured his left (non-throwing) hand in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game against the Broncos. He's officially questionable to return, but we doubt he will. McCown took a beating all game, and the Jets are down big. QB Bryce Petty has replaced McCown.
Update: HC Todd Bowles said after the game that McCown broke his hand. That's sure to end the QB's season.
