The Cardinals plan to "ramp up" QB Sam Bradford's participation in next week's minicamp, according to Darren Urban of the team's official website. He suffered a left knee injury in Week 2 last year that nagged him the rest of the season and eventually required surgery in November. “I think he’s on schedule,” HC Steve Wilks said. “He feels real confident right now with how his knee feels. Again, we are doing a great job in-house with the trainers and strength and conditioning coach and getting him where he needs to be. I think from a mental standpoint, he’s feeling pretty good.” A healthy Bradford figures to open the 2018 campaign as Arizona's starter, but he'll need to hold off rookie Josh Rosen. Neither guy is worth a pick in fantasy football drafts right now.
The Cardinals have released QB Sam Bradford, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That shouldn't impact any but the deepest of fantasy football leagues. If that's where you play, though, then Mike Glennon now stands as Arizona's backup to Josh Rosen. We'd bet Bradford catches on somewhere else in a league that has dragged Derek Anderson and Tom Savage back into employment this year.
Cardinals QB Sam Bradford was benched late in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game against the Bears. He got off to a good start in this one with a pair of TDs in the 1st quarter but got nothing done after that. Rookie QB Josh Rosen made his NFL debut with a chance to help the Cardinals to a comeback win but went just 4 of 7 for 36 yards and an INT. Arizona figures to stick with Rosen going forward, but he's not a fantasy option at this point.
NFL Network reports that the Cardinals are expected to sign QB Sam Bradford. The veteran will likely cost significantly less than Kirk Cousins or even Case Keenum, coming off a 2017 season marred by left knee trouble. Bradford, of course, has navigated a couple of ACL tears but flashed starter ability at times when healthy. Arizona's a solid landing place, with Larry Fitzgerald still around and RB David Johnson returning from injury. But we'll have to see how the rest of the offense materializes. Andre Ellington and Jermaine Gresham finished 2017 tied for 2nd among Cards in receptions with 33. Bradford looks like no more than a low QB2 right now -- if that. Arizona also still looks like a strong candidate to shop QBs early in the NFL draft.
Update: Bradford is signing a 1-year, $20 million deal with a 2019 team option for another $20 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Vikings have placed QB Sam Bradford (knee) on IR. It ends a season that got off to a promising start, with Bradford chucking for 346 yards and 3 scores in Week 1. He suffered a bone bruise the following week, though, that's bothered him ever since. Bradford is set to hit free agency this offseason as a 30-year-old with an extensive injury history.
Vikings QB Sam Bradford underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Per Mort, Dr. James Andrews "cleaned up the knee in hopes of easing pain and discomfort." The team hasn't yet decided whether to stick Bradford on IR, but that seems like the most likely outcome here. He's not worth hanging on to in redraft leagues.
