Bears TE Trey Burton (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Eagles. He was added to the injury report on Saturday, but we have no further details on his status beyond this week. Burton's absence leaves Adam Shaheen as Chicago's lead pass-catching TE. Note that Philly finished 4th in Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed to TEs this season.
The Bears on Saturday placed TE Trey Burton on IR with his calf injury, ending a season that was injury marred from the start. Burton hit September limited by a groin issue after offseason core-muscle surgery. He totaled just 14 catches in 8 games and never topped 20 yards in a single week. He'll be just 28 at the start of the 2020 season, though, with 2 years remaining on his contract. TE Adam Shaheen is also out or Sunday night's game against the Rams, leaving Ben Braunecker as Chicago's lead TE. There will be some upside to Shaheen once he's back from his foot injury.
Bears TEs Trey Burton (calf) and Adam Shaheen (foot) are out for Sunday night’s game against the Rams. That leaves Ben Braunecker as Chicago’s top TE, but he’s still not much of a fantasy option on this struggling offense.
Bears TE Trey Burton (groin) put in his 1st full practice of the season on Wednesday. Burton has been limited to 43% and 61% of Chicago's offensive snaps over the past 2 games. He was in the 75-85% range when healthy last year. We'll see if he gets back up into that territory now that he's evidently over the groin issue. Burton still isn't a recommended Week 4 fantasy play but might be worth stashing in deeper leagues.
Bears TE Trey Burton is active for tonight's game against Washington. That's no surprise, given that Burton played through a questionable tag in Week 2 and then continued practicing through this week. Burton played a limited 43% of the snaps last time out and remains a risky fantasy play for DFS lineups.
Bears TE Trey Burton is questionable for Monday night's game at Washington with his groin injury. Burton played through a "questionable" tag last week but saw just about half of his normal playing time. He continued to put in only limited practices this week and remains a weak fantasy play for Week 3.
