The Cardinals on Saturday placed WR Christian Kirk on the COVID list. That knocks him out for Sunday's game against the Rams and should leave Larry Fitzgerald and KeeSean Johnson as Arizona's 2nd and 3rd wideouts for the regular-season finale. Andy Isabella might also finally make it off the inactive list. We'll see about Kirk's availability for the playoff opener, if Arizona makes it.
NFL Network reports that the Jaguars are expected to sign WR Christian Kirk to a "large deal." Kirk posted career highs in receptions (77) and yards (982) last season, playing 3 more games than his previous high in that category. Kirk spent time both outside and in the slot in Arizona. It's not immediately clear how he and Laviska Shenault will fit together in the offense of new Jacksonville HC Doug Pederson. The money heading Kirk's way certainly positions him as the favorite to lead Jaguars wideouts, though. Marvin Jones also remains in the mix. We'll see what other moves Jacksonville makes at the position.
The Cardinals released their 1st "unofficial" depth chart of the year Monday, ahead of Friday's preseason opener against the Cowboys. Unsurprisingly, the team lists DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and Christian Kirk as the top 3 receivers. Kirk would have been the only 1 of the 3 in question, with Hopkins an incumbent and Green a veteran arriving on a sizable 1-year free agent deal. Kirk, meanwhile, has missed some practice time with a "minor" (though unspecified) injury, allowing rookie WR Rondale Moore to generate some buzz. We'll see where things go between these 2 the rest of the month. Moore certainly brings the higher ceiling. We'll see if he can push past Kirk before the regular season. Of course, it's also worth noting that these preseason depth charts can sometimes prove meaningless -- especially this early in the process.
Cardinals WR Christian Kirk (groin) is active for today’s game against the Panthers. He was limited in practice all week after missing Week 3, so it’s unclear what kind of shape he’ll be in today. Kirk totaled just 3 catches for 57 scoreless yards in 2 games before the injury, so we’d try to leave him on fantasy benches today.
Cardinals WR Christian Kirk (groin) is a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Panthers after a limited week of practice. He’d get a volume boost if WR DeAndre Hopkins sits with his ankle injury. But Kirk was struggling before going down and still isn’t at 100%. We’d try not to use him in Week 4 fantasy lineups.
Cardinals WR Christian Kirk (groin) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. That gives him a shot to return for this weekend's game vs. the Panthers. Kirk totaled just 3 catches for 57 scoreless yards over the first 2 weeks.
