Bills Add Productive WR Skyler Bell in Round 4

The Buffalo Bills selected UConn WR Skyler Bell in Round 4 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Bell caught 69 passes for 756 yards and 6 TDs across three seasons at Wisconsin before transferring to UConn in 2024. There, he became the program’s first consensus first-team All-American in 2025. He ranked fourth nationally in receptions, second in yards, and tied for third in TD catches. Bell offers inside-outside flexibility, running 39.1% of his collegiate routes from the slot. He also ranked eighth among qualifying WRs with 3.14 yards per route. At 6’0, 192 pounds, Bell aced the NFL Combine with a 4.40 forty-yard dash, a 41-inch vertical, and an 11-foot, 1-inch broad jump.

Khalil Shakir Working Back From Ankle Surgery

Bills WR Khalil Shakir is recovering from offseason ankle surgery, GM Brandon Beane said Monday. Shakir did "some things" on the team's first day of offseason activities, Beane added, so it doesn't sound like this will have any impact on his 2026 campaign.

New Role Coming For Khalil Shakir?

Bills HC Joe Brady talked up a bigger and more diverse role for WR Khalil Shakir. "I think Khalil Shakir can play inside and outside," Brady said from the Combine. "There’s really not a lot of things that Khalil can’t do. There’s definitely ways to get the ball into his hands in different ways, and we have to continue to grow his game because he’s such a huge component to our offense. He’s one of our best football players, and when the ball is in his hand, good things are happening."

What New OC Pete Carmichael Could Mean For Bills Offense

The Bills are hiring Pete Carmichael as OC, according to multiple reports. Carmichael spent 19 of the last 20 seasons with Sean Payton, first in New Orleans and then in Denver the past two. Bills HC Joe Brady worked under Carmichael as an offensive assistant with the Saints in 2017 and 2018. Brady has already said that he'll continue to call plays in 2026, but we'll see how much Payton flavor Carmichael brings to the offense. Former QB Chase Daniel, who played for the Saints in 2017, expects more play-action passing from the Bills going forward. QB Josh Allen already ranked fifth among 45 qualifying QBs in percentage of dropbacks to feature play action last year. Allen completed 71.7% of his passes at 8.2 yards per attempt off play action, ranking ninth and 15th among those 45 QBs.

Bills Go Especially Diffuse at WR vs. Eagles

Bills WR Brandin Cooks tallied a game-high 101 yards on 4 catches in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. His six targets ranked second on the team and doubled his previous high through four games with the Bills. Cooks saw his largest playing-time share since arriving in Buffalo but remained in a heavy WR rotation.

Keon Coleman & Gabe Davis INACTIVE

Bills WRs Keon Coleman and Gabe Davis are healthy scratches for today’s game vs. the Browns. WRs Khalil Shakir, Josh Palmer, Brandin Cooks, Tyrrell Shavers, and Mecole Hardman are active for Buffalo. Shakir is the only viable fantasy play from the group, and even he’s a shaky start in what figures to be a run-heavy game from the Bills.

Khalil Shakir Bounces Back With Season-High 110 Yards

Bills WR Khalil Shakir caught eight of 10 targets for a season-high 110 yards in Thursday night's loss to the Texans. It was a strong bounce back from Week 11, when he finished with negative-three yards on one catch. As usual, most of Shakir's work came near the line of scrimmage vs. Houston. But he made two big plays in key moments. The first came on a swing pass off jet motion on a third-and-12 in the fourth quarter. Shakir caught the short pass and shook two Texans defenders for a 44-yard gain. Then, facing a fourth-and-22 late in the fourth, the Bills called and perfectly executed a hook-and-ladder. WR Josh Palmer caught the ball 11 yards downfield and pitched to Shakir, who picked up another 33 yards to get the first down. Shakir does not get credit for a catch on that play, but does get the 33 receiving yards.

        Keon Coleman A Healthy Scratch

Bills WR Keon Coleman is a healthy scratch for today’s game vs. the Buccaneers. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Buffalo planned on Coleman playing this week, but that changed when he was late to meetings on Friday morning. WR Gabe Davis is active for Buffalo and could play a significant role in this one. But Khalil Shakir is the only Bills WR that can be trusted in fantasy lineups.

        Buccaneers-Bills Weather Update

The forecast for today's Buccaneers-Bills game calls for sustained winds around 20 mph with gusts up to 35. There's a chance for a rain/snow mix, but the wind is the concern here. The over/under on this game has dropped from 48.5 on Thursday to 46.5. We're docking the passing projections on both sides and would avoid the kickers.

Bills Elevate Gabe Davis and Mecole Hardman

The Bills elevated WRs Gabe Davis and Mecole Hardman from the practice squad. Davis re-signed with Buffalo at the beginning of September after spending his first four NFL seasons with the team. Hardman joined the Bills' practice squad earlier this week. We wouldn't go rushing to add either guy to fantasy rosters -- and neither should be anywhere near starting lineups. But we're curious to see where these guys fit in the pecking order. Davis, in particular, adds some risk to WR Keon Coleman's fantasy outlook. Khalil Shakir is the only Bills WR that should be in Week 11 fantasy lineups.

Keon Coleman Just Had His Coming-Out Party

Second-year Bills WR Keon Coleman broke out against the Ravens, catching eight of 11 targets for 112 yards and a TD. He led the team in targets, with Khalil Shakir and Joshua Palmer next at nine apiece. Coleman also paced the WRs with an 88.2% snap rate.

Khalil Shakir Will Play Week 1

Bills WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday night’s game vs. the Ravens. Shakir should be a full-go for that one, making him a low-end WR3 option.

        Khalil Shakir A Full-Go Wednesday

Bills WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He's been back at practice for about a week now after his early-August high-ankle sprain, and it looks like he'll be ready for a full workload in Sunday night's opener vs. the Ravens. Shakir sits 43rd in our Week 1 WR Rankings.
