Higbee getting 1st-team reps | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Rams TE Tyler Higbee is already getting 1st-team reps in training camp, according to the Los Angeles Daily News' Vinny Bonsignore. "The skill-set is there to be a match-up nightmare for smaller linebackers and safeties," Bonsignore adds. Higbee dropped to the 4th round of this spring's draft because of an assault arrest but was considered a 2nd-round talent by some. His competition for the starting TE spot is the mediocre Lance Kendricks. Higbee isn't worth a roster spot in redraft leagues just yet, but we're keeping a close eye on him.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee (lung) practiced all week and is set to return for Sunday’s game against the Bucs. That knocks TE Gerald Everett out of the spot-start discussion. Higbee actually out-targeted Everett 8 to 5 over the season’s first 2 games.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee (chest) has been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the Browns. He's played 43% of the offensive snaps so far vs. 55% for TE Gerald Everett. So Higbee's absence could turn Everett into something close to an every-down TE. He's on the deep-league spot-start radar for Week 3.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee suffered a lung injury in Sunday's win over the Saints that had him coughing up blood, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Higbee was briefly hospitalized but isn't expected to miss much time, per Rapoport. We'll keep an eye on him this week. Higbee's absence would make TE Gerald Everett a low-end spot-start option.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee suffered a chest injury in Sunday's game against the Saints and is done for the day. A prolonged absence for him would make TE Gerald Everett a more intriguing fantasy option. We'll look for more info on Higbee's status.

Rams insider Joe Curley expects TE Tyler Higbee to be 2nd in line for targets this season, behind only the newly acquired Sammy Watkins. Higbee caught just 11 balls as a rookie last year but was an intriguing prospect coming out of Western Kentucky. The converted WR goes 6'6, 249 pounds and averaged 15.5 yards per catch in 4 college seasons. Higbee has been buzzing early in training camp and has some upside in new Rams HC Sean McVay's TE-friendly offense. Curley, by the way, has rookie WR Cooper Kupp 3rd on the target totem pole and WR Robert Woods 4th.
