White to remain passing-down back? | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Patriots HC Bill Belichick suggested Friday that James White could remain the team's primary passing-down back even with Dion Lewis back in the mix. "I think James White is a good player. What he does is good. Could somebody do it better? I don't know. But it would take quite a bit, I would say, based on where he is and how consistent he's been with what he's done," Belichick said. "It would take somebody playing pretty good to be better than him." White has tallied 29 catches for 258 yards and 3 scores, adding another 107 yards on 26 carries. The Lewis we saw last year was better than White, but it remains to be seen if he'll rediscover pre-injury form. ESPN's Mike Reiss expects the Patriots to take a "conservative approach" to Lewis' return and confirms that White will play ahead of him on Sunday night. White is certainly the better Week 10 fantasy play. We'll see beyond that.

Patriots RB James White (toe) is active for tonight’s game against the Ravens. He was added to the injury report on Friday, but the toe injury is reportedly very minor. White is safe to get into fantasy lineups if you waited on him.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the toe injury that landed Patriots RB James White on this week's injury report is "very minor." Rapoport doesn't say anything about White's availability for tonight's game against the Ravens, but the report suggests that he'll be able to play. We'll continue to look for updates on his status this morning.

Patriots RB James White (toe) was added to the injury report on Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Ravens. We don't have any other details right now. The late kickoff could make this a tricky situation for fantasy owners, but hopefully we get an update on White on Sunday morning. His absence would likely mean an expanded pass-catching role for RB Rex Burkhead.

Patriots RB James White will not play against the Jets today because he and his wife are expecting their baby's arrival, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That gives a big boost to RB Rex Burkhead, who drew 8 targets in a Week 1 contest that included White. Burkhead also closed out last week's blowout win at Miami after Sony Michel lost a 4th-quarter fumble. Check our updated Week 3 rankings before you finalize your lineups.

Patriots RB James White (ankle) is expected to return for tonight’s game against the Titans. He’s officially questionable. If active, White would carry nice PPR appeal against a defense Football Outsiders rates 7th vs. the run and 32nd in RB pass coverage
