Nelson injured hamstring | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Packers WR Jordy Nelson was on the sidelines for the final drive of yesterday's win over the Cowboys with a hamstring injury, according to NFL.com's Michael Silver. Neither Nelson nor HC Mike McCarthy had an update after the game. The fact that Nelson couldn't be out there at such a crucial time, though, suggests that this is something we'll need to monitor closely this week.

WR Jordy Nelson is retiring. Former teammate James Jones broke the news on Twitter. Nelson racked up 8,587 yards and 72 TDs over his 10-season career. He turned in 3 seasons of 13+ TDs -- a number topped by only Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss. Turning 34 in May, Nelson picked a good time to hang up his cleats.

The Raiders have released WR Jordy Nelson, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Nelson posted a 63-739-3 line in his lone season in Oakland, hauling in 71.6% of his targets but averaging just 11.7 yards per catch. Turning 34 in May, he's on his last legs. The Raiders have re-tooled their WR corps with the additions of Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams. Williams looks like at least a WR3 in his new digs.

Raiders WR Jordy Nelson (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. He didn’t practice all week, though, so don’t bank on him playing. With WR Martavis Bryant (knee) also out, Brandon LaFell and Seth Roberts figure to serve as Oakland’s top 2 WRs.

Update: The Raiders have downgraded Nelson to out.

Raiders WR Jordy Nelson is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Cardinals after suffering a knee bruise last weekend, HC Jon Gruden said. The 33-year-old Nelson has no reason to push through this injury in Oakland's lost season. The Raiders will also be without WR Martavis Bryant (knee), leaving Brandon LaFell and Seth Roberts atop the depth chart.

The Raiders have signed WR Jordy Nelson to a 2-year, $15 million deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's certainly arguable whether Oakland upgraded or downgraded by going from Michael Crabtree to Nelson. The longtime Packer turns 33 in May and is coming off a career-low 9.1 yards per catch. The absence of QB Aaron Rodgers for 9+ games didn't help. But Nelson's 1.22 yards per route run in 5 full games with Rodgers ranked 62nd among 88 qualifying WRs, per Pro Football Focus. He should at lease soak up most the of 8.5 targets per game Crabtree averaged over the past 3 years, but Nelson should be considered no better than a low-end WR2 at this point.
