Cardinals HC Steve Wilks said Monday that rookie QB Josh Rosen will get some snaps with the 1st team in Friday night's exhibition game against the Saints, according to the team website. QB Sam Bradford will start the game and play more snaps than he did in the opener, Wilks said, but the plan for Rosen is noteworthy. Wilks has talked up Bradford as the starter. We'd certainly bet on that changing at some point this season -- quite possibly in the 1st half of the year.
Dolphins QB Josh Rosen was benched in the 2nd half of Sunday's game against the Redskins after completing 15 of 25 passes for 85 scoreless yards and 2 INTs. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is in the game for Miami. We'll see who they go with in Week 7 in Buffalo -- but continue to stay far, far away from the situation in fantasy football.
Dolphins QB Josh Rosen exited in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game in Dallas for a concussion check. We'll pass along an update when we get one. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has entered the game for Miami.
Update: Rosen re-entered after missing just a few snaps.
Dolphins QB Josh Rosen will start Sunday's game against the Cowboys, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's about time. The tanking Fins had no reason to be playing veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick. Now they can at least evaluate Rosen. Of course, Rosen should be nowhere near your fantasy lineup. He's completed 8 of 21 passes (38%) with 0 TDs and 2 INTs in relief of Fitzpatrick over the first 2 games.
Dolphins QB Josh Rosen drew the start in Friday night's preseason game against the Bucs. He played the entire 1st half, completing 10 of 18 passes (55.6%) for 102 yards (5.7 YPA). Rosen's receivers dropped a couple of balls, but he was also spared an INT when Bucs CB Jamel Dean dropped an easy one. Rosen also took 3 sacks. It was a mostly uninspiring performance -- but QB Ryan Fitzpatrick didn't fare any better, completing just 3 of 9 passes for 20 yards on 3 possessions. HC Brian Flores announced after the game that Fitzpatrick will start the 3rd exhibition. That seemingly makes him the favorite to be under center come Week 1. But this continues to be a situation to avoid in fantasy drafts.
The Cardinals have traded QB Josh Rosen to the Dolphins in exchange for the 62nd pick of this year's draft and a 5th-rounder next year. Arizona had zero leverage here and did well to get this return. But it's also a nice move for the Fins, who get a young QB who's under control for 3 more years for cheap. Rosen's rookie year was ugly -- 55.2% completion rate, 5.8 yards per attempt, 11 TDs, 14 INTs -- but he was in a tough situation in stale offense behind a bad offensive line. He'll get at least 1 year in Miami to prove himself.
Get ready to hear plenty about the Rams-Cowboys matchup and the inexpensive WRs on the main slate.
