Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde is inactive for today’s game against the Texans. He didn’t have quite enough time to get settled in after the trade to Jacksonville Friday. T.J. Yeldon will serve as the Jags’ lead back, with Jamaal Charles as the #2.
The Seahawks have signed RB Carlos Hyde to a 1-year deal. That follows reports that Seattle had offered RB Devonta Freeman a contract, so the team was clearly looking to add to its backfield. Hyde played surprisingly well in Houston last year, averaging 4.4 yards per carry on 245 attempts. He ranked 32nd in Elusive Rating and 10th in Pro Football Focus' rushing grades among 45 RBs with 100+ carries. Hyde is solid insurance behind RBs Chris Carson (hip) and Rashaad Penny (ACL), who are both recovering from serious injuries. Carson is expected to be ready for Week 1, but Penny isn't. We'd expect Hyde to open the season as Seattle's #2 RB, although his arrival does add some downside to Carson's 2020 fantasy outlook.
Texans RB Carlos Hyde (ankle) is active for today's game against the Bucs. We haven't heard any concern about that ankle, but Hyde is just a RB3 vs. Tampa's tough run defense.
Texans RB Carlos Hyde (ankle) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Bucs. He got in just 2 limited practices this week. We've heard nothing to suggest that Hyde is in danger of missing this one, but check back around 11:30 am ET on Saturday to make sure he's active if you're planning on using him. Hyde's absence would turn RB Duke Johnson into a fantasy starter.
The Chiefs have traded RB Carlos Hyde to the Texans in exchange for OT Martinas Rankins, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hyde fell behind Darwin Thompson and Darrell Williams on Kansas City's depth chart and would have been cut if Houston didn't make this deal. Hyde has looked like a replacement-level RB for a few years now, averaging 3.7 yards per carry across 2017 and 2018 and 3.4 this preseason. He joins Duke Johnson in the Texans backfield and could handle some early-down work. But we fully expect Johnson to easily lead the way in touches.
The Chiefs signed RB Carlos Hyde to a 1-year, $2.8 million deal. He was unemployed for just about 24 hours after getting dumped by the Jaguars. Hyde is still just 28 but has struggled to 3.9 and 3.3 yards per carry over the past 2 seasons. He ranked 33rd last year among 47 qualifying RBs in Pro Football Focus' Elusive Rating, which measures a runner's impact beyond the blocking he receivers. Hyde joins a Chiefs backfield with Damien Williams, who inked a 2-year, $5.1 million deal in December. Both Hyde and Williams got $1.6 million guaranteed. They'll duke it out for carries this summer.
