Chiefs HC Andy Reid reportedly told GM Brett Veach that he thinks 1st-round rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is better than Brian Westbrook. Westbrook, of course, spent 8 seasons playing for Reid in Philadelphia, topping 1,200 total yards 5 times. The 2 backs are definitely similar from a size and athleticism standpoint. Westbrook checked into the Combine at 5'9 and 200 pounds, ran a 4.57-second 40 and posted a 37-inch vertical. Edwards-Helaire: 5'7, 207 pounds with a 4.60-second 40 and 39.5-inch vertical. If CEH truly is better than Westbrook, he's in for big fantasy production. Westbrook turned in 4 career top-10 finishes and 2 more inside the top 20.
The Chiefs expect RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle, hip) to play against the Bills today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. RB Le'Veon Bell (knee), on the other hand, is not expected to be active. That would leave CEH and Darrel Williams sharing the backfield work. Edwards-Helaire has not played since sustaining the dual injuries in Week 15 at New Orleans. He'll be risky for fantasy lineups in his 1st game back, but he's in play with limited RB options on a 2-game slate.
Chiefs RBs Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle, hip) and Le'Veon Bell (knee) are listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship vs. the Bills. The rookie seems to have a better chance to play after getting in 3 limited practices this week. Bell was sidelined on Thursday and Friday, reportedly dealing with swelling in 1 of his knees. We'll look for updates on both guys on Sunday morning. Darrel Williams remains our bet to lead this backfield in touches on Sunday.
Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle, hip) put in his 2nd straight limited practice on Thursday. It's an upgrade over last week, when he was limited on Wednesday before missing the final 2 workouts. The rookie is seemingly trending toward playing vs. the Bills this weekend, but we'll get another update on his status tomorrow.
Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle, hip) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. The rookie was limited last Wednesday before sitting out the final 2 practices of the week and then missing the Browns game. We'll see what he does over the next 2 days leading up to Sunday's AFC Championship.
Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle, hip) is officially inactive for today's matchup with Cleveland. As expected. Should the Chiefs advance, we'd expect CEH to return for the AFC Championship game.
