Chiefs RBs Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle, hip) and Le'Veon Bell (knee) are listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship vs. the Bills. The rookie seems to have a better chance to play after getting in 3 limited practices this week. Bell was sidelined on Thursday and Friday, reportedly dealing with swelling in 1 of his knees. We'll look for updates on both guys on Sunday morning. Darrel Williams remains our bet to lead this backfield in touches on Sunday.
Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Updates on his status since an ankle injury in Week 2 of the preseason have been sparse, but it looks like he'll be ready for his planned role in Sunday's opener vs. the Browns.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Monday that RBs Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) and Darrel Williams (concussion) are on track to play in this weekend's opener vs. the Browns. “It looked like they’re moving around pretty good," Reid said. “I think we’ll be okay there.” Edwards-Helaire looked like a 3-down back in limited preseason action. We'll track his practice participation this week, but plan on having him in Week 1 fantasy lineups.
Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) practiced on Monday, according to beat writer Matt Derrick. It sounds like CEH was limited after injuring that ankle in Friday's preseason game -- but the fact that he was out there at all is an excellent sign. Edwards-Helaire should be ready to go come Week 1, but we'll continue to keep a close eye on his status.
Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire's sprain is on the inside of his ankle, according to The Kansas City's Star's Sam McDowell. With the disclaimer that we're not doctors, that sounds similar to the injury that's plagued Saints WR Michael Thomas. “They got to check it (today), do what they do there,” HC Andy Reid said. “It’s tender now. It doesn’t look like a high-ankle sprain. That’s always a good thing. They’ll double-check it." We'll update CEH's status as soon as we know more.
Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire suffered a “slight” ankle sprain in Week 2 of the preseason, per HC Andy Reid. Edwards-Helaire will undergo further examination today (Saturday). We’re about 3 weeks away from the opener, so there’s time for the 2nd-year back to avoid missing games if the injury is indeed minor. We’ll keep you posted.
