What's the Lavonte David Retirement Mean for Buccaneers LBs?

Longtime Buccaneers LB Lavonte David announced his retirement Tuesday. He arrived back in 2012 as a second-round pick, and immediately stepped into a full-time role. David started every game in which he appeared from 2012 through 2025 and missed just 14 total games across his 14-year run. David's retirement marks the biggest change to the Tampa Bay LB corps, arguably since he entered the league. But the team already started addressing the situation before David made it official.

Falcons To Sign Brian Robinson Jr. to Replace Tyler Allgeier

Former 49ers RB Brian Robinson Jr. is expected to sign with the Atlanta Falcons as a likely replacement for Tyler Allgeier, who signed with the Cardinals at the start of free agency. Robinson opened his NFL career with three straight 700+ rushing-yard seasons in Washington, peaking with 8 TDs in 2024. He was traded to the 49ers before the 2025 season. After spending a year backing up Christian McCaffrey, Robinson now projects as the No. 2 behind Bijan Robinson.

The Chiefs and TE Travis Kelce have agreed on a new three-year deal worth up to $57.7 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. With incentives, the average annual salary is up to $18.2 million. However, the language of the deal includes a trigger date next June that gives Kansas City cap flexibility. Essentially, Kelce is set to make $12 million in 2026 with up to $3 million in additional incentives.

The Bills made a series of free-agent moves on defense that will change the look of the unit in 2026. The biggest addition was Edge Bradley Chubb on a three-year, $43.5 million deal that included $21.75 million in guarantees. That likely locks him in to start opposite Edge Greg Rousseau for at least the next two years. But the changes to the secondary -- and lack of moves to date at LB -- could boost the fantasy outlook for S Cole Bishop.

Each of the picks Denver's sending sits 30th in that round. Waddle spent his first five seasons with the Dolphins after arriving as the sixth-overall pick in 2021. His high point came in 2023, with a 204-813-4 rushing line and 44 receptions for 319 yards and 5 TDs on 63 targets. That was the year Nick Chubb went down with a Week 2 knee injury. Ford dipped to 104 carries in 2024 but maintained a nice receiving role, leading the backfield in targets, catches, and yards.
