According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, Jets QB Sam Darnold saw the majority of QB reps in Sunday's practice for the 1st time since joining the team for training camp. That change came in a joint practice with Washington, and Cimini called it "an indication he might start Thursday night" in the 2nd exhibition game. HC Todd Bowles said he hadn't made a final at QB for the game yet, but Cimini reports that the Jets have planned all along to let Darnold start at least once in the preseason. This change in practice reps also follows a debut performance that earned Darnold a fair amount of praise. We'll see what it means for his quest to start the regular-season opener.
Jets QB Sam Darnold suffered a left foot injury late in the loss to the Bengals but never exited the game. Neither Darnold nor HC Adam Gase sounded concerned afterward. "He just took some shots on the last drive,” Gase said. “He kind of got torqued a little bit, but he should be all right.” We’ll keep an eye on Darnold this coming week.
Jets QB Sam Darnold (toe) returned to a full practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. The toe never sounded like a real concern. But Darnold remains tough to trust in Week 8 fantasy lineups after Monday night's 4-INT debacle.
Jets QB Sam Darnold didn't practice on Wednesday due to a toe injury. HC Adam Gase didn't sound concerned about his QB's availability for this weekend's game against the Jaguars, but it's just another reason to avoid Darnold after Monday night's debacle.
Jets QB Sam Darnold (mono) has been cleared to play, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. So he'll return for Sunday's game against the Cowboys after missing the last 3 games and 4 weeks. It's obviously a huge boost to a Jets passing game that had been forced to turn to QB Luke Falk. Darnold's return puts WRs Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder back on the fantasy radar, although we'd still try to take a wait-and-see approach with this passing game for now.
The Jets have ruled QB Sam Darnold out for Sunday's game against the Eagles. He reportedly took plenty of practice reps this week, but the swelling in his spleen has not yet decreased to the point where it's safe for him to return to contact. That means another Luke Falk start for the Jets and a tremendous fantasy matchup for the Eagles' team defense.
