Texans set to trade for Thomas | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

The Broncos and Texans are close to finalizing a deal that will send WR Demaryius Thomas to Houston in exchange for a mid-round pick, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Texans need an outside WR to pair with DeAndre Hopkins after losing Will Fuller to a torn ACL. Thomas' best days are clearly behind him, but he's a veteran WR who will at least command some defensive attention. From a fantasy standpoint, he's no better than a WR3 the rest of the way. We wouldn't be surprised if rookie WR Keke Coutee out-targets Thomas going forward. The big winner here is WR Courtland Sutton, who becomes the clear #2 WR in Denver. He's been impressive with limited volume this year, averaging a big 19.1 yards per catch. Consider him a weekly WR3 with upside.

Update: The Texans are sending a 4th-round pick to Denver, and the teams will also swap 7th rounders.

Recent Shark Bites

Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (knee, hamstring) missed practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Steelers. His absence should mean a few extra targets for WRs Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder, but those guys remain low-upside fantasy plays in this difficult matchup.

Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) is listed as doubtful for Thursday night's game against the Ravens. He's averaged 5.3 targets per game this season, so his absence opens up a few extra looks for WRs Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder.

Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, ankle) is active for today’s game against the Dolphins. Note that he played just 60% of New York’s offensive snaps last week. So despite this plus matchup, Thomas is no better than a WR4.

Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. He’s been on the injury report with the hamstring for the past few weeks now, but the ankle issue is new. It’s especially noteworthy after Thomas’ snap rate sunk to 60% last week. Despite a plus matchup with Miami, Thomas is looking like a shaky Week 9 fantasy play.

Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) is "likely" to play against the Eagles on Sunday, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. Thomas is officially listed as questionable after getting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. He should slide in as New York's #3 WR but isn't a fantasy option with Luke Falk under center.
