According to Pewter Report, Bucs RB coach Earnest Byner has liked what he has seen so far from rookie RB Doug Martin as a blocker. That's significant, because pass blocking is often an early knock with young RBs and something that can threaten to take them off the field. In this case, however, it's an area LeGarrette Blount has publicly conceded he needs to improve. The Bucs have yet to begin padded practices, so we'll see how the pass blocking stacks up come training camp. But it could be a mark in favor of the rookie over the incumbent -- especially on 3rd downs.
