The Eagles signed Trey Burton. Listed as a TE at Florida, Burton set career highs with 38 catches and 445 yards in 2013. He looks more like a WR, though, at 6'2, 224 pounds with 4.6 speed. And he might have a better chance at making the Eagles roster as a WR. Regardless, we're intrigued to see what HC Chip Kelly can do with Burton.
Bears TE Trey Burton, who underwent offseason sports-hernia surgery, has missed the last 3 practices. “It’s not a setback,” HC Matt Nagy said Monday. “It’s, more of, for us, I’m trying to protect him a little bit. I need him and we need him 100 percent for Week 1.” We'll keep an eye on this one, but it's obviously not ideal for a guy to be getting babied in early August.
Bears TE Trey Burton joined his teammates on the field Friday for the 1st practice of training camp, about 2 months after his sports hernia surgery, ESPN's Jeff Dickerson reports. Burton said he's "taking it slow," but starting camp on time means we shouldn't let the issue affect his fantasy outlook.
Bears GM Ryan Pace said Sunday that TE Trey Burton (groin) will not be placed on the PUP list to open training camp. Pace added, though, that the team "will be careful" with Burton early in camp. The 27-year-old TE missed spring workouts after undergoing sport-hernia surgery, but he should be a full-go come Week 1 barring a setback. Burton finished 8th among TEs in PPR points in his Bears debut last year.
Bears TE Trey Burton had sports-hernia surgery earlier this offseason, HC Matt Nagy revealed on Wednesday. It's unclear if it was related to the groin injury that sidelined Burton for Chicago's playoff loss to the Eagles. Nagy said "the hope" is that Burton will be ready for the start of training camp in July. We'll keep an eye on him. Burton finished as PPR TE8 in his debut season with the Bears.
Bears TE Trey Burton (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Eagles. He was added to the injury report on Saturday, but we have no further details on his status beyond this week. Burton's absence leaves Adam Shaheen as Chicago's lead pass-catching TE. Note that Philly finished 4th in Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed to TEs this season.
