Bucs release Barth

The Bucs have released K Connor Barth.  He missed all of last season with an Achilles injury and was due $2 million in 2014.  The moves leaves Tampa with K Patrick Murray atop the depth chart.  The undrafted free agent has nailed both of his FGs this preseason, from 27 and 35 yards out.  We might still see the Bucs add a veteran such as Jay Feely or Rob Bironas.  Avoid the situation in fantasy drafts.

The Bears cut K Roberto Aguayo. He missed his only FG attempt in 3 preseason outings with Chicago. Connor Barth will handle kicking duties for the Bears but isn't a recommended fantasy pick on a shaky offense.

The Bears have signed K Connor Barth to replace K Robbie Gould. Barth was just dumped by the Saints after hitting both of his FGs tries and 1 XP this preseason. He connected on 23 of 28 FGs (82.1%) for the Bucs last year. Chicago's offense projects to be no better than middle-of-the-pack, though, so Barth is a mediocre fantasy option.

The Saints have signed K Connor Barth.  After hitting 23 of 28 attempts (82.1%) for the Bucs last year, he’ll compete with Kai Forbath for the job. The winner should supply some matchup fantasy value kicking for a solid Saints offense.
