Bucs strong-side LB Danny Lansanah left Sunday's loss to the Titans with an ankle injury. We have yet to see an update on the severity, so we might have to wait to see if Lansanah practices this week. Lansanah already sat 3rd among Tampa LBs in fantasy upside, given that he leaves the field in passing sub packages. Lansanah should be waiver fodder in the average IDP league.
The Buccaneers have been working rookie LB Kwon Alexander exclusively at MLB behind free-agent pickup Bruce Carter so far in camp. That has left LB Danny Lansanah as the unchallenged starter on the strong side, with Lavonte David -- of course -- on the weak side. Lansanah posted big numbers when filling in for an injured Mason Foster in the middle last season but carries less upside on the edge -- especially with the speed of Carter and David. Carter will be interesting to watch, particularly to see if the Bucs will give him 3-down duties. The former Cowboy struggled most in coverage, an area Lansanah played well last year. For now, Lansanah and Carter are merely reserve options in your IDP draft.
