Cardinals 2nd-year RB David Johnson's already going in Round 1 of early fantasy drafts. HC Bruce Arians doesn't seem likely to hurt that standing at all. "David's earned the right now to be the bell cow," Arians said this week, per ESPN.com. "Everybody's got to take it from him. But Chris ran for 800 (yards) and probably would have had 1,200 had he stayed healthy. Andre can break the game open." It'll take an injury or a seriously disappointing summer from David Johnson for either of those guys to "take it from him." Ellington broke down in his lone turn as the starter. Chris Johnson will turn 31 in September and has never been a good receiver. All 3 guys have garnered more than two-thirds of the team's rushing workload in their starting turns over the past 3 seasons. So when Arians says "bellcow," he means it. Look for Johnson to come out high in our 2016 projections, with Chris Johnson a decent handcuff and Ellington just a late flier.
The Saints signed RB David Johnson to the active roster. He'll help New Orleans replace RB Mark Ingram, who's likely to miss the rest of the season with an MCL injury. We wouldn't bother adding Johnson to fantasy rosters even as an Alvin Kamara handcuff. RB Dwayne Washington is also on the active roster.
The Saints on Saturday promoted RB David Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster. That likely means there will be a role for him Sunday against the Rams. We wouldn't bet on a lot of usage, though. Dwayne Washington and Jordan Howard combined for just 7 snaps last week, with Howard drawing the only carry between them.
The Saints signed RB David Johnson to their practice squad, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports. Johnson turns 31 in a month and mustered just 3.4 yards per carry on 67 attempts with the Texans last year. New Orleans is expected to be without RB Mark Ingram for another week or 2, so Johnson might find his way onto the active roster. But he remains well off the fantasy radar.
Texans RB David Johnson has been activated from the COVID list. He figures to play vs. the Titans on Sunday but should only steal a handful of touches from RB Rex Burkhead.
Texans RB David Johnson was not activated from the COVID list and will miss today’s game vs. the 49ers. Rex Burkhead should remain Houston’s clear lead back, with Royce Freeman the #2.
